JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Yes Jane....I am for the most part "quiet" in my witness, that is what works well for me, I often get my words wrong.....that turns people off.

Jane Let your grand daughter know she is prayed for. She will make it!

Jane Walker

Oh, I understand perfectly, Judy .... I'm a great one for getting my words wrong and that resulting in someone wanting to challenge or argue with me.  I refuse to argue, so that ends up with anger or hurt feelings or such.   :-[

Thank you for the prayers for Becky ... she tries so hard and seems to continually encounter setbacks.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Good morning Friends ... I wanted to first share a quick update with you & to tell you that Gloria is out of ICU & doing very well and her daughter said to tell everyone THANK YOU for the prayers. Well ... I have a full day of things to do & then church tonight so wishing each and everyone a blessed Wednesday !!

Janet

Just a quick note this morning before I head out to the fair again.  We were super busy all afternoon, and I didn't get home until after 8 last night.  That, plus a "J" night means I'm feeling tired this morning, but I have prayed and KNOW God will renew my strength so I can do what is needed today.  That involves helping the judge, making sure every piece of artwork is judged in the proper category, marking the places--Blue, red or white--hanging the few we didn't get hung yesterday, etc., etc.  I'm so thankful my ass't Supt. Thelma is really good with book work, she keeps everything straight in our notebook.

I may be able to set up a table in the commercial room to sell my books.  I did ask the other day, but the gal in charge is so overwhelmed and I think she just forgot to call me.  I'm taking my stuff, just in case.  ;)

Sorry to talk about me so much, please forgive me, and you all have a great day!

Hi everyone.  We have a delightful, sunny, cooler day today with low humidity.  This is fairly unusual for Georgia in July.  We are just home from Bible study and a social time at Dunkin' Donuts.  The rest of the day is free so will rest this afternoon and evening.

Janet, hope you get to sell some of your books during the fair. It sounds like you must have had many entries in the art department.  Glad to read of the improvement for Beth.

Karen, glad to hear your friend is out of ICU and doing well.

I will be brief today as am late getting started on reading the posts from yesterday.

Carol

Our daily thunderstorm is beginning with wind picking up now.  It does cool the house quickly.  Tomorrow, we will drive our DIL to the airport and she will meet with our son in San Francisco (where he is having meetings).  We will be in charge of three rescued German Shepherds, seven chickens and three ducks.  Need I say more?  They will return Sunday.  She is a teacher and off for a little part of the summer so we really do want to help them out -

Belated birthday wishes to Bonnie!

Judy:  That was such a beautiful and interesting video.  Wondering how they put it together.

Janet:  Beth's improvement - now, that is really amazing and so welcome.  It must be lifting her spirits too. Good wishes on the books.

Ruth Ann:  Please remember to take care of yourself - you do so much for others.

Larry:  We stopped at Lamar's doughnuts for coffee and one doughnut each and they handed us fresh & hot doughnuts so we had two each.  Bad bad but oh, so good!

Hi to all
Thanks to all who welcome me back.
I actually remember many of you here.
Its been a great day. God is good

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone on another very nice day here in Georgia.  It was down to 61 degrees last night, the lowest for that date in over 50 years, and today is suppose to be in the mid-80's.  I am looking forward to a quiet day as only have my men's weekly luncheon to attend at 11:30.  Today we are going to one of the buffets we all like.  I am using the Opera browser this morning as I can't seem to find why every page I load in Chrome also opens an ad page, which is very annoying.  So far so good.

Carol, it sounds like you will be having some farm chores to perform.  Your son and DIL must really love animals.  Nice of you to help them.  A couple of donuts occasionally can't do too much harm.

Melody, we are glad to have you back and to know that you remember some of us.

Hope this is a wonderful day for you all.  Our attitude has a lot to do with how we see each day God has allowed us.

I am so blessed, Sunday one of the ladies brought me a dress and said Marilyn I think you will look smashing in this dress. It fits me perfectly and will be fantastic to wear to Keith's 50th reunion dinner next Saturday night.

This morning at Bible Study one of the ladies handed me 2 pr of expensive jeans one still had the tags, she said try these on. I did and they fit perfectly even to the length with is always a hard one for me to find being that I am so tall. She sold them to me for $10. I am now in a sizz8 in pants and jeans. Imagine that size 8 I never thought I would see a size 8. I still weight the same at 140 lbs.

Hi everyone.  A very nice cool, overcast morning here in Georgia.  It is suppose to only get up to 80 degrees today and to have rain over the weekend.  I have been to coffee at the Senior Center and then a stop at the Comcast store to trade the TV box we had received for the HD box.  I signed up for the Xfinity TV service yesterday and will drop the Dish service as of the 28th.  Even though we won't have the Xfinity TV for the house until the service tech can come on the 29th, I have the apps on both my iPhone and iPad and can watch TV now anywhere I have a wi-fi or anywhere on my iPhone with the LTD speed.

My sister-in-law called Pat a little while ago to tell her that her granddaughter and husband had been in a car crash with a drunk driver.  The granddaughter had been taking her husband to work at 4:30 am as they have only a van and it had been loaded with furnishing as they had closed on a house yesterday and were in the process of moving.  All the windows were blown out of the van and I don't know what else.  The granddaughter was taken to the hospital in an ambulance but her husband wasn't going to leave the van until it was taken care of.  What a mess and we don't know the extent of the injuries either one sustained or anything about the drunk driver. Fortunately my SIL had the three great grandchildren at her house overnight so they were not in the van.

Judy, nice pictures and it looks like an old time Georgia courthouse on the square.  I have a very good friend who was a professor in Statesborn at Georgia Southern University for 30 years.  He retired about 10 years ago.

Karen, thanks for the good wishes for yesterday.  It was a good day and hope your got what you needed to accomplish completed.

Marilyn, what a kind friends to give you the just the dress you needed and get perfect fitting jeans for such an inexpensive price.

I like the picture you posted that was taken by Max Alderman. He is an amazing man of God who preaches the word and also has an amazing ministry in his portrayal of God's creation in picture form. He is an amazingly gifted man and loyal servant of the Lord. I feel so blessed for having met him and had the privilege to lunch with him while he was up here in our area.
Well finished with my long gig in the truck. Sure takes a big bite out of each day. Whether your an over the road driver or a local driver who gets home every day, it doesn't leave any time to ones self to do anything at home. Found out though that I haven't forgotten how to drive one of those things yet. LOL. But give me my old Volvo over the one I drove this week any day.

We all are in horror over the downing of that Malasia flight.  Our cousin in Holland wrote this on Facebook...

QuoteAs most of you know a great tragedy has befallen the Netherlands, as well as Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia, Great Britain, Germany, Belgium, the Philippines, New Zealand and Canada. The biggest airline catastrophe in over 35 years for us. The fact that this wasn't mechanical failure, pilot error or adverse weather does nothing to ease this sense of injustice,
So far 189 men, women and children have been identified as being Dutch. As I stroll through Twitter, messages keep popping up of identified people, there were a few from my hometown that I, for selfish reasons thankfully, do not know. It reminds you that we're all more connected than we think. We lost 0,000012% of our population (which incidentally is a higher percentage than 9/11 did for the US population) but it affects so many more people.
It also reminds me of the fact that as soon as stuff begins to get close it starts to hurt. But what about everything that's happening that isn't related to me? Where I am not personally involved, even if it is by only living in the same city as some of the victims.
298 people died in a terrible crash. But this is about the same amount of people that have died in the first ten days of the current gaza conflict. It amounts to approximately 0,00115% of the total casualties in the Syrian civil war.
I won't even start to mention what groups like Boko Haram have done.
And yet despite the unfathomable amount of conflicts around the world, it's only the one's that are close that really make an impact. Such is life it seems.
This is ridiculous! All fighting's ridiculous. It stems from a misunderstanding between two people or groups that won't be persuaded to listen to each other and believe that the law of retaliation really leads to a better world.
And now, as in so many conflicts, as has happened so often times before, it's the innocents that pay the price. People that had absolutely nothing to do with it all got pulled into a conflict and paid a price. And there was nothing they could do.
I'm saddened that it had to come to this and as little as it may mean I wish my condolences to those who had to be dragged into this.
So I'll end by these few quotes:
"An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind" - Mahatma Ghandi
"Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding" - Albert Einstein
"Peace is not the absence of conflict, it is the ability to handle conflict by peaceful means" - Ronald Reagan
and I wish you all a safe weekend.

Janet, Slow Down!!!  You're making me tired and out of breath reading your posts!!  HAHAHAHA!!

Hi Larry!

What an awesome picture that MaxA took!  Thanks for sharing, Judy

Karen, you're another one!  Rushing around all day!  Guess I'm showing my age!  ;)

Hi John!

Judy, thanks for sharing John's cousin's post.  Very thought-provoking!  This was such a terrible happening.

JudyB:  Thanks for the forward from your relative.  I was checking to see if any missionaries were on that flight - they are in Kuala Lumpur and travel that route often.  On your other subject, that is a very nice picture..

Larry:  Such good news that the children were not in the van.  I hope the mom recovers quickly and totally.
We came home to take naps and put out the weekly garbage.  Storms predicted so we will go back early and give the dogs a bit more exercise.  Yesterday would have been a cartoon movie with us trying to herd chickens and ducks into their little hotel.  This morning, the chickens raided the ducks water and spinach so we had to shoo them away to their own feed.  The dogs had to be into their normal routine last night and one expects to lay on her pad and was looking at me until I put her blanket on her back - laid right down and closed her eyes.  Another, the youngest, was upset until she personally rubbed nose with her two buddies - then went immediately to her cage.  It takes a bit of figuring out what they really want - routine.

Pat:  I am with you on how everyone is so busy - just seeing it makes me want to take a nap.  We are not getting anything done here and really don't have much to do at son's house for these 4 days.  But --- ticking off the hours until they return.

Coyotes in the ravine calling out this morning and coyotes in the adjoining ravine answering.  DD  - Jenny lives on that side.

Praying for support for Israel.

So, Carol are you saying that these coyotes are in the ravine between you and Jenny?  Wow!

I had to smile about the coyotes.  I have had coyotes around me all my life.  The worst thing they have done is to kill guinea fowls, chickens, and since being here, one of our little dogs.  We suspect they were guilty in the disappearance of several cats through the years, too.  Their population waxes and wanes, sort of depending on the rabbit population.  Hearing them howl just never bothered me.

Carol, I giggled at the mental picture of you with all those "critters" to care for.  I'm sure you will not be sorry to send them home!  ;)

I loved the photo by MaxA.

Larry, so sad to hear about the car accident, and pray the mother recovers quickly.  Have you heard whether or not her husband was injured?  Good the kids weren't in the vehicle, for sure!

Pat, I took your advice--in advance--and have been taking it much easier today.  I did have an interview with a lovely young lady for the Garden City Telegram, about the new children's book.  Nothing else I HAVE to do today, (said with a big sigh of relief!)  I had really pushed myself too hard for the past several weeks and needed some time to rest.

Marilyn, good for you!  And this is one time I can honestly say I know how you feel, because I am now wearing a size 6, and weigh in the 130's for the first time in many years.  I have been on a total fast for Beth's and John's healing for a few days, which made the last little difference, but have been eating almost no bread and no sugar since the first of the year, and the weight kept coming off, without my seeming to even try.  I never thought I would wear a size 10--much less an 8--but a 6?   :o  Never imagined it!  (But it sure does make me feel happy!)

It's so good to have two of our members back who had been among the missing for a while.  I really hope more will come back to us.

Oh how I pray for a strong, honest, resolute, CHRISTIAN president to lead this country!  God help us!

And today my sweet husband and I have been married for 33 great years.  We have decided to try it for one more year!  ;)

Janet

Thanks, Judy.

I got up at 3:30 this morning, as I couldn't get back to sleep.  So I have enjoyed three hours in the throne room with my Father.  It's going to be a great day!

I have to go out to the fair to release entries, pick up my own entries--and my award money!  ;).  I think that's all of my 'have-tos' for today.  So I should be able to take a little nap this afternoon!

See you wonderful folks later!

Hi everyone on a very dark and rainy day here in Georgia.  We are suppose to have rain throughout the day and then a better than average chance for more tomorrow.  I am back from coffee and think I will just stay in today where it is nice and dry as have nowhere I have to go.

One of my coffee and church friends told us today that the town they moved from a couple of years ago was burned to the ground yesterday by the terrible wild fires and this included the homes they had lived in and also the homestead he had grown up on.  He and his wife are the couple who spends several months a year in Mexico.)

An update on my niece and her husband who were in the crash yesterday morning with the drunk driver. Neither one was kept in the hospital.  He will miss a week of work as had damage to a tendon in his leg.  It was not a hit and run and the drunk man had insurance.  He had two illegals with him who tried to run but my niece's husband legally had a gun and told the two guys to stop or he would shot them.  He held them until the police came.

John, at least you know you don't have to be driving everyday and I expect it makes you realize what a gift you have in being retired.

Judy, I agree with your cousin in Holland that this terrible tragedy affects people worldwide and how it is the innocent people, such as in Gaza and Israel that suffer so much from war and war like conflicts.  Your cousin writes very well.

Carol, sounds like you all are having quite an adventure tending the animals.

Janet, I also remember hearing coyotes howling when I lived on the farm but don't recall we every had a problem with them and our chickens or other animals.  I watched an interesting documentary on Yellowstone National Park and it talked about how the wolves had been restored, after having been eliminated purposefully, and how they are vital to the circle of life in the park.  Glad to read you are giving yourself some time to rest.  Good work on the weight loss and guess that gives you a good reason for a new wardrobe.  :) Congrats to you and Darrel for the 33 years of marriage.  Tell us about your prizes at the fair as it sounds like you did very well.

It is another busy day here for me I need to get back on cleaning out the closet some more and then sit down and have some time for me ... then keep us all in prayer as we are traveling in the morning to go see my daughter's fiance as he is a 2 hour drive from us and so we will first make a stop at the church that is close to the prison and attend there and - then it's out to lunch and then our visit ... So, we are looking forward to seeing him again. So, keep us in prayer for thee trip to and home again ... the picture below was taken last year in JULY.

So I want to take this time to wish JANET a ... Wishing a wonderful day for you both !!

Till next time ladies and gents !!

Janet, don't tease us with just a mention of award money.  Tell us more!!!

Larry, I'm so glad for the good news that your niece and her husband weren't seriously hurt in the auto accident.  Good thinking on his part to keep the illegals at the scene until the police arrived.

Winter Rose, it sounds like you have a full day ahead.  Enjoy!
