All to Jesus, I surrender;
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.

Refrain
I surrender all, I surrender all,
All to Thee, my blessèd Savior,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender;
Humbly at His feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken;
Take me, Jesus, take me now.

Refrain

All to Jesus, I surrender;
Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;
Let me feel the Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine.

Refrain

All to Jesus, I surrender;
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power;
Let Thy blessing fall on me.

Refrain

All to Jesus I surrender;
Now I feel the sacred flame.
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory, to His Name!

Refrain

Morning Devotional...

Profit and Loss

"Lo, we have left all, and have followed Thee! Jesus answered, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My sake, and the Gospel's but he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time and in the world to come eternal life."-- Mark 10:28-30]

     THE PRINCIPLES of this world, and those of our Lord are widely different. The world is set on grasping all it can; accumulation, self aggrandisement, the piling up of fortunes, the gradual or speedy climb up the ladder of fame, the gathering of hosts of friends. Looking after "number one" is the readiest way of expressing this principle of life! But it is unsatisfactory and disappointing. The soul which is the centre of its own circumference is doomed to realize that there are more forfeits than prizes, more bitterness than success, more dark hours than bright ones.

     On the other side, Christ's principle of life is to give, to trust, to bless! His measure must be always pressed down and running over. The cloak must follow the coat; the second mile must be gladly thrown in with the first. To be willing to surrender all for the sake of others, is the ordinary claim of the King on those who own Him as their Lord.

     In every age there have been thousands who have gladly accepted this as their rule of life. Peter and the rest of the Apostles were the leaders of a host which no man can number, who have left all to follow Jesus. He had nowhere to lay His head, and they have been homeless, wandering in the world, with no settled abiding-place; He was poor and they have gone amongst their fellows, saying: "Silver and gold have we none, but such as we have we give." But how great has been their reward.

    Before we can understand what Christ is willing to do for us, there must be not only a taking-hold, but a letting-go. We must step out from the boat, and withdraw our hand from it. It is even good, like St. Paul, to need all things, since by faith we come to possess all. Read the wonderful series of paradoxes to which he gives utterance in 2 Cor. 4.
The Lord promises eternal life as the crown of all. When we kneel at the Cross, and see Jesus as our own Savior, we have eternal life, but we cannot realize all it implies until this mortality is swallowed up of life.

PRAYER
Thou hast called us to minister and witness, to go amongst men as our Savior went, bearing in our hands the balm of Gilead. May we not be disobedient to this heavenly vision. AMEN.

Thank you Jane for a wonderful devotion for this week!  Lovely hymn as well.  Oh, that we might all learn to "surrender all".  It's so easy to sing the words but do we really mean what we are singing?

Something to pause and think about for sure!

Good morning!  I'm so glad we are back !  Thanks, Michael---and Happy Birthday!  May your life be richly blessed by our Father God.  Thanks for all you do for us.

I'm ready to head to the gym, after quite a few days' absence.  I will try not to overdo it, but do need to work out some soreness.

I'll be back later and post some more, as I don't remember whether or  not I have posted since getting home.

Hi everyone on a sunny morning and it will get hot by afternoon.  In a little while I am going to pick up the young Nigerian lad from church who sits with us each Sunday.  He is 16 years old and wants to work.  Pat has made a list of things here in the house he can help her with that are beyond what we should expect the housekeepers to do, such as removing the globes from the light fixtures and washing them and putting them back up and moving things in her sewing room to give it a good cleaning.  After he finishes we will take him to lunch somewhere and then take him home.  That will be it for today.

Marilyn, a nice thing to happen when you can no longer wear your larger sizes.  It usually goes the other way.

Jane, thanks for the devotional thoughts for this week.

Pat, I wasn't able to get here yesterday but glad to see we are back in business this morning.

Happy Birthday, Oldiesmann and thanks for your help with this site, we appreciate it.

Tbear, good to see a posting from you again.  Please don't be a stranger.

Janet, glad you are back although I have lost track of where you went.  Glad you are not going to overdo your workout as will probably need to work back up.

What a relief to find we're finally back in business.  Thank you, Michael/Oldiesmann!  I thought at first it was something more that was going wrong with my computer.

Jane, thank you for the devotional and that wonderful old hymn.  How much of our "ALL" to we really surrender?  That really takes some thought!

Hi everyone.  Today is suppose to get to 93 degrees with zero chance of rain.  After Bible study this morning Pat and I are going with two dear friends to a place called the Blue Willow Inn, which is an old mansion in a small town south east of of that is famous for its buffet.  They also have a gift shop the the ladies have informed us will need their attention.  We are celebrating their wedding anniversary, which was a few days ago and our wedding anniversary, which is next week.  The young Nigerian lad was here for about two hours yesterday and got a few jobs done and then we took him to lunch and Pat took him home.  My blood pressure was pretty low yesterday and I didn't feel well all day long.  Fortunately it is back to my normal this morning and sure hope it stays that way so I can enjoy the day.

Yes, Karen, you have been missed and it's good to see you back.  And folks, check out the photos she has uploaded to her album!

We are now into summer.  I know, this is what I was asking for in February and March, but...  90's and muggy, the traditional HHH days.  Not to mention the thunderstorms that keep popping up.  Sigh!  Guess I'm one of those people who is never satisfied.   :clobber:

TBear, please forgive my failure to welcome you back yesterday.  I DID think it!  But Thoughts not translated into action do not suffice.  I am truly sorry.

Larry, we went to my niece's husband's funeral, were away for three days.  I don't expect you to keep track of me, I barely can do that myself!   ;)  :-[   It is a very tough time on Kenneth's family, but the Lord has shown His love in many ways during this trial.  He is so good.

I walked outdoors for 30 minutes today, then did some exercises with my exercise ball, thus skipping the gym.  Not for good, but for today, anyway.

Our weather today --so far-- is lovely!  The concrete was wet this morning, and the air is cool and crisp.  But things do heat up as the day wears on!

I am going to the Red Hat luncheon today.  We are all bringing salads, and I haven't attended for several months, thought I'd enjoy a break from the work of getting ready for reunion .

I was so saddened at the news of the murders of the three Israeli boys by the Hamas terrorists.  I pray daily for Israel and for Jerusalem, God's holy city.  Those shall prosper who love her.  Since we got to visit there, my concern for Israel is even more strong.  Please pray for the Jewish people, that they will finally accept the truth of who Jesus is and what He did for them on the cross.

Larry, your plans for today sound so nice.  May I tag along?   ;)  Enjoy!

Pat, look for an email from me!

Hi, friends,

I've been trying to recuperate from this cold. Maybe a couple more days will banish that cold. I hope so.

I've not been going to the gym, for I can't breathe very well. I surely miss getting that vigorous exercise.

It's so good to see everyone here. Jane, thanks for the great devotional message.

Well, y'all have a good rest of the day.

Love to all,
Ruth Ann

Hi everyone.  It is going to be another hot day today.  My schedule is fairly light.  I plan on getting a haircut this morning and then have my men's luncheon at 11:30 at a new place for our group called the Cup and Saucer.  Pat and I have eaten there a few times and found it goo so hope the guys agree.  Then I will stay in where it is cool for the rest of the day.

Ruth Ann, sure hope your cold is better by today.

Hi Karen Welcome Back, I don't come in every day sometimes so I guess you came back yesterday on of my off days. LOL

This morning's bible Study was fantastic, We studied john 4 and Luke 8. I read from my Amplified Bible while they followed in their Bibles, We discussed  the  lesson after every few  verses.  We had a little confession period before the lesson, everyone of us had something in common with John 4. I love this small fellowship. We are having a yard sale to replenish the Provident fund. The women's group is going to make sandwich lunches for the homeless consisting of a sandwich, cookie bottle of water and a note that says "Jesus loves you". We have one or two homeless people each Sunday come to service.

We are down from the mountain -literally.  We spent time with neighbors who invited us to stay a while and enjoyed the cool nights and quite at Dillon.  Many years ago, our family used to drive from Texas twice a year to ski - boy, that is a long time ago.  This was a good time with friends and the guys played Cribbage and chatted for hours upon hours.  Came down the hill just fine and watched hundreds upon hundreds of cars driving at a turtle pace - they blast at the tunnel and I don't know what else happened.  Not enough road and too many cars.

We are overcast with a haze from way northwest in Canada plus smoke from  Arizona and it is sitting in the front range.

Welcome back to Karen(TBear).   :cheer:  Happy Birthday as well!

Larry;  Nice that you can find someone to help with extra chores around the house.  It sounds like the boy is looking for work - and lunch with him is a sweet thing.

Well I will be away tomorrow.  My friend has dies and the funeral is tomorrow.  She had bladder cancer, and chemo for months, all to no avail.  It spread to her abdomen, bones, and lungs.  From what I have read from a friend I will see her in glory.  She has left behind 4 children the youngest just graduated from grade 87 and the oldest is to marry in the next few months.....  I have been devastated by her passing. The funeral will be interesting, and heart wrenching.

We have had a cool week with lots of rain.  I so wish summer would return!

Good morning everyone.  It is a delightful morning as it overcast, has cooled down and the humidity is a lot lower.  I went to coffee this morning at McDonald's and the group was not in any hurry to leave this morning.  Happy 4th of July to all of you in the USA.  I had filled the car with gas before going to coffee and then went to Kroger's after coffee to get a few items and ended up with a few more besides.  Now I am in for the rest of the day.

WinterRose (Karen), glad to read you are here to stay.  I see no reason you can't put your update here as this discussion is for general conversation.

Janet, I think we have some of your weather today and thanks for sending it our way.  However, we are not to get any rain in the next few days.

Marilyn, it does sound like you had a good Bible study this week.  Nice of your group to help feed the homeless and most people have things they can contribute to a garage sale and doing it as a group rather than individually should be a lot more enjoyable.

Carol, it sounds like you had a great time on the mountain.  I love to play cribbage but haven't done so for a long time.  Guess you were glad you were in the other lane and not on the way to the mountains.

Judy, so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend.  It is hard to give up our friends.  It sounds like she probably was ready to shed the old shell of a body and no longer suffer.  It does sound like it will be a difficult funeral as she had such a young family.

Judy, having just attended the funeral of my nephew (by marriage) I understand how this funeral will also be difficult.  Kenneth left a wife and five children.  But we do have the assurance of meeting him again in heaven.  That's the most important thing---always!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!  LONG LIVE AMERICA!!

As I prayed this morning for our country, God assured me of his protection for all those who know Him.  Difficult times will come, harder than we can imagine, but those of us who dwell in the secret place of the Most High are protected under the shadow of His wings.  What a comfort to know that.

Lon was supposed to be here at 9; it is after 10 and he's still not here.  Grrr.  :-\   >:(

I wish you all a peaceful day.

Not much going on here at my house, I went to the nail salon  to have my nails done and we went to Walmart for groceries, had breakfast between Walmart and th Mall. We will be going to to dinner with the same friends we always go with on Friday night at the Mexican place in the Mall.

Last night there was a looooong fireworks display at the Mill Casino  down the hill on the bay. Bebe did care for all the noise but it didn't faze happy and he is the one who used to go nuts  over fireworks.

Sunday at church we hare having a potluck and celebration of the 4th with a quiz on the  Citizenship questions that the new citizens have to take. That should be interesting.

Hi, friends,

I've had a quiet 4th, but have spent time reflecting on why I'm glad I'm an American. The reasons are many. :)

It's good to see Karen back with us. I look forward to your update.

Carol, good to hear from y'all, too.

Janet, I wonder if Lon remembered that this is the holiday. That may be why he was either late or missing today.

Larry, it's always fun to introduce friends to restaurants we like.

Marilyn, I'm glad y'all are enjoying the Bible study.

Judy, I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend. May God's presence be very close and comforting to the family at this time.

As for the cold, I'm definitely feeling better, but have a ways toward being fully free of it.

Y'all have a wonderful rest of this holiday and may God be with each of us today.

Love to all,
Ruth Ann

Well we are home after an 18 hour day.  The funeral was emotional, for me, tears came swiftly and early.  I went not knowing if Pam was born again, and came home rejoicing.  She gave the directions for the funeral and everyone there now has absolutely no excuse for not believing.  The minister laid the plan of salvation out so very well.  After just before we were to leave I spoke to her husband.  He was talking to others there about the quilt she received from Victoria's Quilts. (Google it)  She kept it with her all the time and on the underside of the quilt was a Bible verse.  That verse had to be at the top by her heart.  At the end the only organ of her body that there was no cancer was her brain.  The minister told me one day near the end that Pam stopped her talking and said "Listen, you hear that?"  It was a code blue.  Pam told her that every time she heard that she would pray for the person and for the family.
Her oldest daughter was in university, and called Mom about how hard it was and she didn't think she could do the courses.  Pan listened and when the daughter was done she said "I didn't raise my family to be quitters, figure it out!" and proceeded to hang up, totally shocking the daughter.  She figured it out and passed with honours! Pam died 19 days before this daughter's wedding day.  The daughter said "I would never wish her back because that would mean more pain.  That would be too selfish!"  This daughter too is a born again Christian.
One of her favourite phrases was "It is what it is, deal with it!"

I ask all who read this that you would keep Pam's husband, children and extended family in prayer that they would accept Jesus as their Savour as well!  We never know who is and who isn't we need to pray .

Judy, thank you for sharing this emotional and personal moment with us.  I know how emotionally draining the loss of a close friend (or family member) can be.  I will be in prayer for the family of your dear friend as well as for all who knew her and loved her.  Take comfort in the knowledge that our Father truly understands our grief and the Comforter will sustain us through every moment of this journey ... God bless you ...  ;) <3

Hi everyone.  It is another beautiful day here in Georgia.  We didn't have any fireworks being set off close to us and just heard some distance booms.  Yesterday afternoon  Pat invited friends over to share the ribs and other items she was preparing for our evening meal.  These are the friends we have been playing cards with who have moved much closer to us a couple of weeks ago.  Pat fixed the ribs and baked beans and the friend brought over a potato salad.  The ladies beat the men in the completed game and after dinner we started a second one but I asked that we suspend it until next time as was getting very weary.  As soon as they left I retired for the night.  We are both staying home today so nothing on the agenda.  I did go to coffee at McDonald's.

I want to tell you about a new program I learned about this morning and have loaded on the computer, iPhone and iPad.  It is called Globible (http://globible.com/ )and looks like it will be a wonderful study tool. There is a free version that gives you access to the NIV and KJV of the Bible and a lot of the resources of the paid version.  I will try the free version for awhile but it looks like a program I will want to buy.

Janet, thanks for the words on Independence Day and God's assurance to us of his protection.

Karen, hope you enjoyed your potluck and fellowship at your church yesterday.

Marilyn, by always going to the same place with your friends it eliminates that task of every time having to make a new decision as to where to go, which I find burdensome at times as the men's lunch group have to make this decision for the following week each time we meet.

Ruth Ann, even with all the problems this country now faces (and I suppose always has) it is still the place people want to come to live and we have much to be thankful for.

Judy, that was a very long day and emotional one for you.  I understand perfectly what Pam's daughter met about letting the person go because of the terrible suffering.  It is comforting to know that she was a Christian.

Jane, I think we all find that God does not give us more than we can handle and even though we may feel the opposite sometimes he is always there to provide and guide us if we allow it.

It's been quite a day for me!  I went early this morning to Pat's to help her paint a room in her basement.  They had to have a lot of the sheet rock replaced because of water damage, and she can't get up and down a ladder any more to paint.  So we got started and worked steadily until noon, when we finished the job.  Primer and paint!  YESSSS!  We got it done!

Abby called while I was at Pat's to ask what time we were going to Garden to buy groceries for the reunion, as she thought she could be a help to us.  Of course I was delighted to have her come, and she was a lot of help.  We got all bt two items on my list, and got it all put away when we got home, then she went home.  We will celebrate Abby's 17th birthday during reunion.  I know some of you remember the many photos I used to post of her when she was a baby, now she's a young lady.  Time does fly!

I want to watch the rest of Huckabee, so see you later!

Hi everyone on an overcast Sunday morning.  We will go to church and out to lunch today and that will likely be it for the day.

Pat, thanks for starting the sympathy topic for soultwin.

Janet, pretty amazing that paint is such now that you can do primer and the coat of paint in such a short time.    Sure nice of Abby to call and offer to help you with the shopping. Sure hard to believe she will now be 17 but they do grow up quickly.
