Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

I used to have a clothes line and the post rotted and rusted it was in the ground so many years.  I must get another one.  I love hanging out my wash.

I have a picture of a flower from a tree and we can't identify it.  Can anyone help?

[attachimg=1]

The tree was about 30 feet high and in London ON.

Janet

I don't know what it is but it sure is pretty!

Beautiful flower on that tree.  It almost looks like something tropical.

Our pastor's granddaughter is five years old - not five months as I originally wrote.  Still no word.  He is speaking tomorrow and since our children are once again scattered, I am taking Don to a late lunch at a French restaurant.  They have fabulous food and special prices on Sunday afternoon.  I also ordered a medical alert bracelet for him and it will have information on it where emergency can call an 800 number for his medical records and all pertinent information.  We probably should all be wearing something in case of being unconscious and no one knowing us or our medical condition.

That is all.  good night and sweet sleep to all.

Pat

My goodness, Pat!  What a wealth of pictures of tulip poplar trees!  And Etta Sue has one of those trees in her yard.  I thought about that, but wasn't sure I remembered what the blossoms looked like...anyway, thanks!

Pat, I will try to call you this afternoon.  I look forward to talking to you.

We attended church last night so won't be going this morning, unless we decide to go elsewhere.

I want to get several projects wound up today.  Must stop procrastinating!!

Have a blessed Sunday, friends.

Hi everyone.  It is another lovely summer day here in Georgia.  It will be warm but should be this time of the year.  I finally remembered to put our sun screens for the windshield into the car yesterday and that helps with it getting so hot inside a locked car.  We had a great time yesterday with our friends playing dominos.  It is sort of a circus when we play as one of the ladies had a stroke many years ago and is blind in one eye and it takes her awhile to play but she loves doing it.  Another one of the group is in early stages of dementia and has to be reminded and helped a bit and her husband has serious sight problems.  Of course these two couples are in their 80's and Pat and I are in our early 70's.  It takes us two hours to play one game of Mexican Train and then we go out to eat.  Last night we went light and ate at Chick-fil-A, which we all enjoyed.  It became a comedy of errors as first the lady who is stroke stricken can use only one arm and she picked up a package she thought was unopened salad dressing and it poured all over the table.  We cleaned that up and next the man with the vision problem set his small ice cream cone down on his tray and then hit the tray or cone and it ended up in his lap and then on the floor.  They gave him a new cone to replace that one as he hadn't even tasted it.  Finally, the lady who spilled the salad dressing then turned her drink cup over.  Fortunately, it had a lid so no damage done.  We all just had a good laugh and enjoyed what had happened without becoming upset.  Pat and I were still chuckling about the circus when we got home.

We are going to church this morning and out to lunch and then a quiet evening.  I am using Advance System Care Pro to tune up Pat's desktop and sure hope it fixes some of the problems.  It only found 10,801 problems so it was a time for a tune up.  If it doesn't I will be getting her a new desktop and hers is almost useless the way it has been running.

Pat, lovely graphic.

Judy, relax for awhile and keep the stress down regarding the test and you will do fine.  You have done the work and will refresh your memory before the test and you know you have a lot of folks pulling for you.  I have never seen a flower blossom like the one you posted but agree with Janet that it is very pretty.

Jeanne, do you hang your clothes outside to dry?  Nothing smells as fresh as sheets just taken off the line.  A great memory from growing up on the farm.

Yesterday afternoon Stacey went back to the ER as the phantom pain had become so bad she couldn't take it anymore.  She was there until late in the evening but they got the pain stopped and she spoke with Pat this morning saying she was headed to church and that the pain hadn't returned.  Hopefully the cycle of pain is broken, at least for now.

Carol, great idea on the medical alert bracelet for Don.  I always carry my medical history, meds and allergies listing in my billfold.  We did get Stacey one of the bracelets several years ago but don't think she wears in anymore.  She now carries the 5 star alert fob and they have all the information on her condition with just a touch of her button.    It is worth what we pay a month for it for our own peace of mind.

Janet, hope you get your projects wound up today that you want to complete.

It's starting out lovely this morning, but the promise is for increasing clouds, showers, maybe some rumbles of thunder tonight, rain and possible thunderstorms tomorrow...  but the temperatures are expected to be in the low to mid 70's all week.

Yes, Larry, I hang my wash outside when the weather permits.  In the winter I dry it on a rack over a heating vent.   It sounds as though you just enjoy the company of your friends and everyone is able to overlook the little upsets and laugh over them.  That's how a true friendship should be.   ;)

Thank you Pat for the link.

We are having a quiet morning then on to get John's meals ready.  He heads out in the morning, with a trainee from our home town.  HE will be home Friday then we are off on an adventure to the south to meat up with a friend I grew up with.  We are thinking we may head down Friday night, to make Saturday a little less stressful.  I am really excited about this visit, My friend Beverly had a knee replacement about 6 weeks ago.

I am no longer stressing about the exam.  I don't need the credit, if I pass that will be great if not nothing really lost.  I am reviewing the GAAP's and how to apply them that is the part i struggle with, however I am sure I will do ok.

We had rain this morning.  Janet the rain we are getting has increased since i posted that picture!!! Hope the same is true for you!

Closing off for now!

Janet

Thanks, Judy!  No rain yet, but we remain hopeful. What is it that you are studying?  If you told us, I forgot.  :-[

Larry, so nice that you all continue to enjoy your friends.  None of us is exempt from the problems due to aging, it seems.  And if I don't get with it, those projects won't get completed today!

Jeanne, the weather you describe sounds heavenly to me!

I am sitting here chuckling over your post Larry.  It's so good that you can all smile together with situations like this.

Janet, I'll be home.  ;)

Enjoy your day, Judy!

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone else.

I listen each day to Allistair Begg and on Facebook, he shares these wonderful graphics/photographs with either a scripture verse or a quote from some famous preacher of the past such as Charles Spurgeon or even himself and they are free to share.  They mean a lot to me so I thought you all would get a blessing as I do when I share them in here.  He has a wonderful message for fathers today for Fathers' Day.

Hi Everyone Been a while since I have posted here. Been somewhat busy with work travelling between 2500 and 3000 miles a week and then coming home to get the garden in for the summer and un-stressing Judy with this course she been working on. Thank goodness she is done except for the exam so life can get back to normal. But then what is normal except a setting on your dryer. This week I went down south to Georgia on a rush run as the company was running out of supplies and then immediately had to reload back. Sorry I wasn't able to meet you this time Larry, but hopefully will be able to make it the next time when I'm not under such a time line. I did enjoy the weather though. It was great to get into the warm and need the air conditioning for a change. I have a new dispatcher and this guy is all the difference in the world to the type and quality of work that I am getting. Really enjoying the change. Right now I'm sitting resting my right knee to get it so I can be more comfortable walking and driving. I think I got a flare of Bursitis in it and its not to pleasant. However at it says in the Bible this didn't come to stay but it came to pass. A friend once said to me to not get old because its painful. I'm beginning to think he was right but unfortunately we cant stop the age train. And the older I get the faster time seems to go. There just isn't enough time to do anything anymore. Maybe retirement is the answer. Seems to not be enough time to go to work anymore. Well enough of my ramblings for now. Have a good and blessed day folks. John.

So nice to see your post, John.  Really sorry your knee is so sore.

No reason why but this wireless mouse has gone bananas and needs to have an extra click as scrolling goes loopy & fast.

Hah!  Look at the words we use now as opposed to when we were just graduated and knew so much!  A mouse indeed.

Another beautiful service - we will surely miss this retiring pastor.  His granddaughter is truly 5 1/2 months old as he showed the pictures on the big screen.  The main thing is that she is "doing better" - remember, I wrote she had a cold and it turned into a form of meningitis paralyzing her for a few weeks.  So, it sounds like more to go - usually that form never changes so this is a hopeful miracle.   Went to the market after church and after coffee and a scone while reading the paper.  Ran into a new to me neighbor who is a quilter and they want to stop by so be it one of these days.

Two sons were able to make it otherwise all the children called today.  One had been hiking in the mountains, one has lots of acreage work, one daughter had a day for her husband planned, and one son is on the way to El Salvador.  These children make me dizzy.

John:  Nice post from you but a sore knee is tough to get over while driving.

John, nice to have you posting.  I hope that knee gets better FAST!

Carol, always nice to read your posts, as well.  Our families surely do get scattered, don't they?

Pat, lovely photo!  Thanks!  I went to Seniors and friends, but don't remember my password....... :-\

Everyone here has been such an encouragement to me with all your kind words and suggestions.  I hesitate to mention people because for sure I will miss someone.  This has been a long road and stressful.  My niece has said to keep going as that is how to keep my brain active.  Janet Larry Carol Jeanne John RuthV......and so many others.  The end is in sight and my mind is mush.  Janet you asked what I am studying.....Accounting. I love accounting, but I'm thinking my age is a  :banghead: that I keep bumping in to.  I keep knowing that God is with me and will bring to remembrance what I have studied.......as another person said I have to breathe...sometimes I do forget the deep breaths and that has no good effect on memory.

Again Thank you all for everything and if I missed your name I am sorry I do covet your prayers and appreciate the encouragement and suggestions.
