Morning Devotional...Why Imitate ChristAllistair Begg
Whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
1 John 2:6
Why should Christians imitate Christ? They should do it for their own sakes. If they desire to be spiritually healthy--if they want to escape the sickness of sin and enjoy the vigor of growing grace, Jesus must be their model. For their own happiness' sake, if they would drink deeply of His love, if they would enjoy holy and happy communion with Jesus, if they would be lifted up above the cares and troubles of this world, let them walk even as He walked. There is nothing that is able to assist you in walking directly toward heaven like wearing the image of Jesus on your heart to rule all its emotions. It is when, by the power of the Holy Spirit, you are enabled to walk with Jesus in His very footsteps that you are most happy and most known to be the sons of God. Peter at a distance is both unsafe and uneasy.
Next, for religion's sake strive to be like Jesus. Poor religion, you have been fiercely attacked by cruel foes, but you have not been wounded half as much by your enemies as you have by your friends. Who made those wounds in the fair hand of godliness? The professing Christian who used the dagger of hypocrisy. The man who with disguises enters the fold, being nothing but a wolf in sheep's clothing, worries the flock more than the lion outside. There is no weapon half so deadly as a Judas-kiss. Inconsistent professing Christians injure the Gospel more than the sneering critic or the heretic.
But especially for Christ's own sake, imitate His example. Christian, do you love your Savior? Is His name precious to you? Is His cause dear to you? Would you see the kingdoms of the world become His? Is it your desire that He should be glorified? Are you longing that souls should be won to Him? If so, imitate Jesus; be "a letter of Christ . . . known and read by all."1

MORE LIKE THE MASTERCharles H. Gabriel
More like the Master I would ever be,
More of His meekness, more humility;
More zeal to labor, more courage to be true,
More consecration for work He bids me do.
Refrain:
Take Thou my heart, I would be Thine alone;
Take Thou my heart, and make it all Thine own.
Purge me from sin, O Lord, I now implore,
Wash me and keep me Thine forevermore.
More like the Master is my daily prayer;
More strength to carry crosses I must bear;
More earnest effort to bring His kingdom in;
More of His Spirit, the wanderer to win.
More like the Master I would live and grow;
More of His love to others I would show;
More self-denial, like His in Galilee,
More like the Master I long to ever be.
Another Hymn that ties in to your devotional Pat.

We are having another beautiful day today. Sun is shining, If the could stay away we will have a chance for some lake sunset pictures! An evening to play!!!
I have mowing to do, and hopefully John will be able to till the garden, and we can plant it.
If anyone gets a request to join Linkedin from John or I ignore them, He didn't send any requests.
I am off and getting at the mowing!
Hi everyone. Just back from coffee and going to Kroger's for some things to take to Stacey's as she is released from the hospital this morning and to help her get settled back into her apartment. I will need to go to the drug store down there for her as she will have a new prescription to pick up. It was very foggy here this morning but it seems to have cleared now. I will not be going to my men's lunch as we wouldn't be back from Atlanta in time. Yesterday Pat got out in the light rain and went to a Mexican restaurant for a buffet lunch.
Judy, don't be too hard on yourself over the accounting test as those don't sound like too serious of mistakes, especially the not drawing the double line. Your friend is right as I expect there are few, if any, businesses that don't now use software for their bookkeeping. However, you do need to know the principles involved. I take it that you have more to do on your class? There is nothing wrong with that picture as it is beautiful.
Jane, glad to see you are safely back home. It sounds like you will be busy planning the family reunion but fun to anticipate.
Pat, thanks you for this week's devotional thoughts.
Thanks Pat for devotions. I seem to remember a baritone singing "More About Jesus" and wondering if it was George B Shea. It is interesting and so nice to see the older songs in here. Funny about music staying in one's head for many years.
JudyB: Kudos to you for taking on an Accounting class. I really had trouble with that one class but interestingly enough was able to do bookwork when we had a business. Sounds like you are staying with the program so you will conquer it soon. Pat on the back .....
Jane: Your trips to meet close relatives sounds so fun. Enjoy as much as you can.
I had quite the experience at lunch the other day when ordering a Salmon roll with a soup. If you ever see a green paste on the side, don't assume it is an avocado. Mine was Wasabi - wicked thing brought tears to my eyes and it felt just awful all the way up my nose to my brain. Did survive. ......Just had to stop and find an alarm that was set on a radio and I am sure that I did not touch it.... The day is just beginning.

Larry, I just looked and I can't find any software disc for my Printer. It prints fine from my Corel PSP X5 but doesnt recognize the scanner to import to PSP X5.
Pat, thanks for the devotion.
Jane, glad you are back. I agree. The same drives we used to do takes longer than they use to do so therefore, they are tiring! Seeing loved ones out ways the tiredness.
JudyB, I get emails into my Junk folder all the time from LinkedIn. I delete them and then delete them from the Delete folder.
Carol, I have never eaten Wasabi but now I don't think I want to either. If food hurts your mouth or makes your eyes water, I don't want it!
The yard is mowed. Yeah!
Ivalou is having Euchre at her house so I am going over when I cool off and get her card tables and chairs out of the garage into the house. I want to set them up for her also. I am so glad that I bought another set of a card table and chairs for myself. Now I can set up one table in the living room, one in the utility room (it's almost as big as my living room) and then we can all eat at the dining room table when we are through playing cards.
Best get to Ivalou's and then I can shower! <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo>

Etta Sue Good for you not accepting the Linkedin Requests John got a request from a friend and from that acceptance requests have gone out to a lot of contacts. He was alerted when I asked him why he sent me a request when I wasn't interested.
Thank you for the pats on the back with my course. It has my mind working hard!!!
Good to hear Stacey is home, and it sounds like Pat is getting around better.. That is always good news.
Carol. Wasabi John and I would love it. Anything hot John loves, Hot peppers, hot horseradish, and hot pepper jelly. That is something I have to make again this year.
Well John has tilled the garden and I have most of the lawn remowed. The battery on the mower needs to be replaced that will be sometime this week.
Have a great evening everyone.
Pat: I like your closing comments to end the week and start a new one.
This is our 24th of May long weekend we sat out front to watch the little town parade it was very nice, lots of activity at the community center but we stayed home then around 10 p.m. (dusk) it will be the big fire works show and yes it is big people come from the surrounding area to watch. We can watch it from our back yard that is good for me as I am having knee issues.
It is good to know that Stacey is home and I hope all works out well.
Praying for the families in Moore, Oklahoma. It looks like it is a night of terror for many other areas as well.
Praying for Oklahoma!!!
Good morning everyone!!! School is out for the summer, and my internet is working (for now) so here I am!!! God has blessed us with a very beautiful day today and I am so thankful. We may be getting some of the storms that hit the midwest yesterday, so later on we will be watching. Lord, please be with the folks in OK. My heart was broke yesterday for the parents of those children, and everyone else caught in the tornado..
The county I live in is "dry" and we are voting today on whether to keep it that way or go "wet". This is the first election my daughter is getting to vote in and I realized that its not just her that will be able to vote this time, but a whole new generation. But how many of them were raised in a christian home? The outcome is in God's hands but I love my little corner of the world, and I love the fact that there is no alcohol sold here. I would appreciate any prayers sent up in this matter. Those who are for it always bring up the tax dollars that we would be getting, but never think about the bad stuff that goes along with it.
Praise the Lord for the day, bless all who come through here and have a good one!!!
Later,
Samantha
Hi everyone, It is a beautiful morning here in Georgia. I plan on a relatively easy day today as need to rest up from the trip downtown yesterday. Stacey did get home about 1:30 and we arrived their just a few minutes after she did. I got her prescriptions filled but had to do a lot of walking. She did tell us that she used the alert system to call the EMTs and they stayed on line with her until the EMTs arrived. By the time we got home I was beat so did not attend my normal Monday evening meeting. I was watching TV as it showed that horrible hurricane approaching and destroying so much of Moore, OK and then saw the pictures of the destruction, which is unbelievable. Our first home was in Moore back in the 60s and Stacey was born while we lived there so feel a bond to that area. It was a relatively small community that was just developing when we were there. I am just hearing that there are new storms coming across Oklahoma as I write and these may impact other states as well.
Etta Sue, you can always find the printer software on the web by searching with the printer name and number to the manufacturers website and searching on their site. I have done this many times.
I have read all the postings and glad to see Samantha back with us. I have enjoyed all the the postings but am not making other individual comments this morning.
I'm at a loss to know what to say this morning, the devastation is terrible.
Praying for Oklahoma!

Larry, I don't feel I have a problem with my printer, scanner and copier. Corel PSP X2 on my Toshiba laptop imports by scanning on said scanner. Corel PSP X5 does not recognize said scanner. I feel it is X5! I wonder if I can go to C:/Program Files/Corel PSP X2 on the Toshiba and find the file for Twain Source...copy it to a flash drive and install it on Corel PSP X5 on the Asus laptop. I might try that! TMI! Larry might know what I am talking about.
I didn't know about the Oklahoma Tornadoes until I was watching 'Dancing with the Stars'. Remember....I don't watch the news. But I did Google it and saw some devastating videos!! So sad.
At 3:30am I was woken by debris hitting my bedroom windows. Not lightening, not thunder, not rain but debris and wind!! It calmed down and I went back to sleep. I woke again at 4:15am and turned on the TV. First thing I heard was 'a roof on a gas station near Riverview Hospital was torn off but no other damage has been reported.' I go right by that station to go to the pool.
I got up at 8am and was on my way to the pool. Sure enough, there were limbs down in Noblesville and some electricity out. Traffic was backed up 6-7 blocks from downtown Noblesville. I turned south and went as far as White River and got back on SR32. And sure enough, at the top of a little hill was the roof damaged at the gas station near Riverview Hospital. It was closed and cherry pickers were removing lose roofing. Then I wondered if the Rehab Center would be open.
It was open since they have generators. Upon leaving I notice the stop light west of the rehab wasn't working AND the gas station was open for business.
It rained on me going to the rehab center and now the sun is shining bright with tiny whispy clouds in the sky! But we are to get more rain tonight!(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*

We only had 12 people on our whole site vote for a winner and I'm wondering why this might be. Even if you aren't a photographer, even if you don't take photos, even if you didn't enter, you can vote!!!
Thanks everyone!
On Photography Cafe, one of our members put a link to a news story that I also saw on FOX news and I'd love to share it with you all...
Tornado Survivor Finds Dog During TV Interview
Miraculous stories of survival emerge after one of the strongest tornadoes in history tore through an Oklahoma suburb.

(I'm hoping that Chocky will join us here at CP as she has wonderful bird photos and videos too that she's made) :)
Ah Yes Here I am
I see you have uploaded this here
It is a Miracle before every ones eyes. Abslute proof
I sobbed with joy when that lady who had lost her home and every thong then her Little dog was found .
I sat here and cried God blessed that little dog and the lady
Pat: Thanks for the video. Teary eyed just watching and to think the little dog was alright. It is nice to see some good news out of this monster storm. The house was really gone and it is amazing and a miracle that more people weren't hurt or killed by the debris. I loved it when the teacher said that she prayed and added that she probably wasn't supposed to do it. Praying with the children while a storm was hovering and that little group was alright. What a strange government we endure when Christian prayer, a basis of our entire country, cannot be done in school.
Sipping coffee :coffee: after a little while on the treadmill. Today is the neighborhood book club that formed last fall. Over a dozen participate.

I have noticed since messing with this laptop over the weekend that I don't have those annoying adds at the bottom and the right side of my screen. Yeah for one thing!
A little bunny is playing in my front yard. He sure has grown!
There are times when I notice that only 2 or 3 post after I post in a days time on here. I don't have time to do much on the laptop but the things I like to do. Sometimes I think, why am I posting?
Today is rainy and cloudy. Ivalou and I are getting haircuts and then probably Chinese.~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^

Well I am back at the studies, this is a 2 week section again, and the first week it is basically just a recording and work to do, the second week has an instruction lesson on Monday then assignment to be handed in next Friday. That will leave 2 weeks till our exam.
We have a cloudy day here and Pat's area is expecting thunderstorms.
Have a great day everyone.
Hi everyone. We are suppose to have a pretty much sunny day with a chance of late afternoon shower, which is normal for this time of year. Yesterday Pat and I went to Chili's for lunch and I had a coupon for a free dessert and it was good. Needless to say there was no supper needed. Pat had her church ladies book club meeting at 5 pm so that worked out well. Pat had a brief call from Stacey yesterday morning but someone was at Stacey's door so she had to hang up and she didn't call back and she hasn't called yet today. At least we knew she was all right for the day, which is why we ask her to call everyday. Today Pat went with a friend to pick out new glasses. It has been a number of years since she had any new frames and is looking forward to getting them. She drop me off at Bible Study at church and then picked me up from Dunkin' Donut.
Etta Sue, do you have different operating systems on your desktop and laptop? If so, it is possible that your printer software doesn't have a driver for the newer system. I have found occasions where the software maker did not update drivers for the Windows 7. I guess this is so they can sell new software. I would be very surprised if what you suggest using a flash drive would work. Glad you didn't have any damage from the bad winds.
Pat, I met to vote and simply never got around to it. I will try to do so next time. I saw that interview that was occurring when the little dog came out of the debris and it was very touching.
Chocky, welcome to the Thoughts discussion. I look forward to getting to know you and hope you will post here often.
Carol, I saw the interview with the teacher who said she had prayed and isn't it sad she even has to worry about being disciplined for praying for safety for the the school children. Good for her.
Etta Sue, perish the thought about not posting. I look forward to all the postings when I come here.
Judy, it sounds like you will be busy with your course and then preparing the for the final test.
    It's great to have Chocky (Beryl) in here.
Beryl is in England in Devon where Jack and I did a lot of hiking when we did the South-West Coast Path. When we were in the south Devon area, we stayed in a caravan at Beer Head which Beryl will know of very well. All the places she mentions, I know so well and it really makes me "HOMESICK" for the UK.

Etta Sue, for the past year or so, I've been feeling similar about the Photography area of our site. Our name is "Christian
Photographers". So, I understand your comment. :( I think and think about things that could be interesting for our registered members but then it seems I was wrong.
We also love our members who don't take photos but the whole site is open to all and we really appreciate it when those who don't take photos post or vote in the Photography section. So, Etta Sue, please continue to post you newsy posts daily. I know of several who mention in conversations to me how they
love your fantastic graphics you put in every day and I also find them so funny or... thought provoking!
I also know of many who come here and sit and quietly read and when they've read all the posts, they leave. :( That's sad. I wish that they would even say something like, "Good devotional this week!" or, "Praying for you at this time, xxx", or, "xxx hope you're feeling better" or, "nice you had a good time with your family, xxx". These sorts of comments are so encouraging for some to read and realize that their post was at least read by someone.
Thanks Etta Sue for prodding us
ALL!

This is the day after that terrible storm towns north of us also got hit with the terrible winds. Today so far we have had sun and some rain. Early this morning I headed out to have my hair made beautiful again. The sad part is that I will need to return to the hairdresser in approx 6 weeks. to have it done all over again.
Y'all have a great rest of the day.
Ruth Hope you like the way your hair turns out!
There are times I don't post to comments here, mainly because my days are so boring to me and I feel I have nothing to contribute to the conversation. What I do post seems so inadequate at times. How many others feel the same?
It is still raining here, drizzly rain, overall a good day to get my work done. This is the final chapter with an assignment and test, then there is a wrap up assignment to do. I am doing well enough that even if I choke on the exam I will pass the course.
We have a TV channel called Galaxie The Light. It is all Christian music, some oldies and some new. I find it is calming to work with it on. The benefit of satellite TV.
Have a great day folks.

You sound like me, Ruth. I was hoping to be made "boootiful" (as my Grandchildren used to say) :) this week but guess I'll wait till next week.
Anyone know when Janet comes home? I'm happy that she's missed all the tornado weather--if she's still in Turkey!
I am a day late for voting on the photos but I did see some that I really would have liked to vote on.
It is pouring rain right now, been raining off and on for 2 days. Some sleet last evening left ice all over the deck and lawn.
Not much else going one here today,I did make a loaf of bread in my machine, went to the gym and created a tag for one of my groups.
Now I am going to do some more creating , i am trying to get ahead a couple of weeks because we will be gone on Vacation from June 15th to the 23rd. Also I am going to California for Forest's 8th grade graduation on the 12th.
It's been pouring and pouring and lightning and thunder today and now the sun is shining!
We still have rain and 56*F
Last night was relatively quiet here, but somewhat south of us they had some major flooding - one town registered over 8 inches of rain in the previous 24 hours. My daughter will be arriving for a visit sometime today and there is the possibility of some serious storms in the areas she'll be traveling through - prayers please.
Thank you Pat, for taking care of posting the winners of the challenge. I was disappointed, too, at the small number of voters. Hmmm.. Is it time to get out the whip? [attachimg=1]
Hi everyone. It is going to be a beautiful day here in Georgia. We did have some rain last night with some lightning and thunder. Nothing noteworthy yesterday for me and today will probably be about the same. So I expect to just have a quiet day.
Pat, good comments on how we would appreciate folks coming to read just saying hi once in a while.
Ruth, what type of storms occurred north of you? We don't hear much about events like that in Canada.
Judy, I agree with you that I sometimes feel my comments don't really contribute to the conversation but I realize that if we didn't post there wouldn't be anything available to read. I don't find the postings of other folks boring or not of interest. Often our comments just emphasize we are people with normal lives that aren't always exciting but what we write represents what is happening in our life on a given day. That sounds like a nice music channel.
Pat, I wondered the same thing about Janet. It should be shortly. I can't remember if she said how long they would be away, perhaps 10 days or two weeks.
Marilyn, isn't it getting late in the year to be getting sleet? It won't be long before your travels begin.
Jeanne, sure hope your daughter doesn't encounter any travel problems with storms today. Glad you have your computer fixed as missed your postings.
Sorry, I missed the vote - someone must have interrupted me. :o My life has so much routine especially mornings and evenings. If I don't do everything in order, something will be skipped - that is how my life goes now. I try to do the treadmill for a short time every morning and listen to the radio of a local channel. Huge hullabaloo over this governor as he made the decision to not decide on the death penalty for a killer of four people. He passed the decision on to the next governor whenever that will that happens. The jury and families are furious as this is a death penalty state and they did their due diligence work on getting that verdict. I am not for the death penalty and would have to say to a judge that I couldn't make that call. Anyway, that is the ongoing story here.
We live in an area of about 100 homes with mainly retirees just so we have a lawn service & someone shovels snow. It seems that every month there is a firetruck or paramedics coming up the street to check on someone. So many wait to move to assisted living and then it becomes a crisis. I hope we know when we need to think about that change.
Larry: We had to buy a more expensive router and it is working well. Things have been slow for half a year on my laptop - now Sony is feeling better.
I will do my best to take some pictures and learn how to set them up on this site - feeling that whip from Jeanne!
Hi, friends,
Somehow I missed the actual announcement and photo of the tree contest winner. ALL the photos were winners, in my opinion. :)
Love to all,
Ruth Ann
Another cold wet day here in the north. Current temperature is 36*F and rain to continue until Thursday night. Furnace is on and sump pump is working.
I have to get to town yet, however I do think I will wait till Friday. It will be warmer/drier then. I must say I am a little concerned about flooding.
Betty how are you making out? Do you have any flooding?
Be back soon.

Thanks, Pat, for the encouraging words. I guess CP is my personal blog! There have been many times that I have thought...now when did I do so and so? So I have a general idea and go to CP. Check out that weeks Thoughts and voila! I did so and so on so and so day!!
I have my daily routine also...breakfast, devotions and computer. I check my emails, CP, I do three jigsaw puzzles daily, check Facebook, and enter the sweepstakes to win a house on HGTV! If I have time then, I do my Solitaire games. The rest of the day is mine. I know that what I do online seems trivial to others but it keeps my mind active! Breakfast is always quick. Some days I spend 2 hours in devotions meaning Sunday School lessons or just getting engrossed in the Word. (Love when that happens) And some days the computer is quicker than others. I love to StumbleUpon when I have time and I love looking at YouTubes.
Ivalou and I got our haircut yesterday. At the salon is two Sandy's! Sandy J cuts our hair. Sandy J had rotator cuff surgery in January. Last month she was fine but yesterday she was hurting! Sandy S said 'Sandy J worked in her flowers from 9am to 1pm Saturday without stopping so I wonder why her arm hurts'. Ivalou and I both said we could come back next week but Sandy J said no, she could cut our hair but would it be okay not to shampoo? Sure! My Mom was a kitchen beautician and she always told people not to wash their hair because dirty hair was easier to cut!! So Ivalou and I got our haircut and we were bee-you-ti-ful yesterday. Today, not so for me!
Then we went to the China Buffet. Not an hour after coming home, Kitty called and asked me to meet her at Pizza King for a coke. So I did. Just as I was leaving, dark clouds were to the west. So I speed hurried home. I...ME!...ran from the garage to the house and seconds later it was a downpour! Whew! That was close!{{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}} {{{HUGS}}}

Ruth Hope you like the way your hair turns out!
There are times I don't post to comments here, mainly because my days are so boring to me and I feel I have nothing to contribute to the conversation. What I do post seems so inadequate at times. How many others feel the same?
Yes, Judy, I feel exactly the same way as you. I just never feel anything I could share here is worth reading about. OR there are things going on in and around my family that I prefer not to express to the world. :-[
Either way, I am one of those who reads here nearly every day (whenever I get a notice, and my computer is cooperating) but only silently pray for, or rejoice with, each one who shares. Sorry ... :-[
Even now, I wrote this post several minutes ago, but was unable to post it until I left and came back again! :-\
By the way, I did vote in the photo challange! :)
Hi Everyone! <3
Just thought I'd come and finish my :cup: of coffee with you all.
It's been a lovely day here in Guelph. It's been sort of windy and my bedroom window wasn't closed tightly and the whistling and whistling of the wind was sure eery-sounding. Even the cat wondered what it was!
Jeanne, hope you have a great visit with your daughter. So glad you got your computer sorted. Yes, it was a lovely Challenge and yes, it would have been nice to see more posts but so be it.
Larry, please give Pat a hug for me. Or even look to your right and say, "Pat says "HI"" to her. Love the way your recliners are nicely situated with the lamps between and you can just relax with the TV in front and your laptops handy. ;)
Carol, I'm going to go down after supper and put my treadmill down :tiredtread: :tread: (it folds up) and get busy on it. Thanks for the reminder. ;) :run:
Judy, that sure sounds chilly! It's in the mid 50's here today to low 60's. I went out and pulled some weeds and felt I should have had a light jacket on. My goodness the weeds have taken over the flower borders with the rain we've had!!
Etta Sue, you sure have your day ordered! Every day for me is different! I wanted to drive up to Home Depot today to pick something up but I took a nap instead!
OK, I've been
I know that Jane and Judy have both said that they come here and don't feel as if anything in their life is world talking about or something like that, but we're all interested in knowing you were here and that you are fine. So just a "Hi Everyone" if you don't have anything better to say would be fantastic. I hope that what we are doing in our lives is interesting so just say, "Hi"
I always love to know that Ruth Ann is praying for us. She's been praying for me since 1996 and I've so appreciated knowing about it. ;)
Anyway, I'm off to make some supper and then I'll see about putting the treadmill down.
Love you all
:xox:
PS... Is anyone else here seriously trying to lose weight? Just wondering as I am. (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi365.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Foo91%2Fangelesjr03%2FlevantaPeso.gif&hash=29da1131e3ccbff436736735bfadb28aecd8ca01)
Pat: I must get serious and now we are heading out for a trip to Minnesota, the land of never-ending casseroles, sweets and so forth and great food handed out in large quantities. It is impossible (almost) to lose a pound on this trip because everyone wants to "treat" us. Now that is a nice problem since I just watched a movie about the starvation in WWII -
Glad you are getting the treadmill out. We should encourage each other. :)
Carol and Pat I have my tread mill staring at me ......I have to get using it too. :tiredtread:
The weather should change for Friday, This weather is getting too much. :banghead:
I am looking forward to finishing this course I am on....A lot of time is spent on that when I would rather be doing this :dogrun: with a ball.
Ruth, I forgot to ask you if you see any of the old drivers very often? Do you still go out for coffee with some of them? I'd love to know how our old boss is and also Jim.
Samantha, so good to see you posting. We'll chat soon...
JUDY!!!! I'm sitting here giggling at your post about your treadmill STARING at you!!! I have to get mine out where it can see me to start staring and make me feel guilty!!!
Hehehehehehe
;)
I love it when members gently tease each other!
I'll be busy this weekend with some student activities that Grandmas must attend. Soooooo, till then, y'all keep the lamps lit and the latch-string on the outside for me. :)
Ruth Ann
Larry this is Oregon, Sleet can happen at the drop of a hat some times, It has been rather cool for a few days too, I was worried about my tomato plants getting frost bitten.
Not much going on around here, I finally wore out my bread machine so I ordered one from Amazon last night, I had some credits there so it only cot me just over $30. It is a Breadman Rapid Deluxe. I have a hardback Breadman cookbook that I have been using some of the recipes for some time. However I stopped using any recipes at all and just made up my own as I went a long. My favorite bread uses Stone Ground 100% organic Whole Wheat flour, I add Wheat Germ and Wheat Bran, It is a very healthy bread by the time I get through playing with the ingredients.
Marilyn you sound like me I use my Kitchen Aid to make the equivalent of a loaf of bread machine bread. Half the time I don't use a recipe either. Tastes better that way!
Enjoy your grands activities.. They can be a lot of fun! It is always good to be with the grands!

Good morning on a dark, chilly and rainy day. My daughter called yesterday and put off her visit for one more day. She had stopped, as planned, at my son's home in New Jersey for an overnight break in her trip, and was hit with a migraine soon after arriving there. So now, I'll be watching for her later this afternoon.
Pat, have you taken my running shoes again? You seem to be getting everyplace just ahead of me lately! :D
Hi everyone. It is a bit cooler this morning and a nice breeze but sunny. We are going to a meeting this morning that is celebrating an anniversary and will be followed by a potluck luncheon. That will be plenty of activity for today. I don't feel very peppy this morning but am OK.
Carol, I am like you on routine and I like it that way. If the routine is broken I may forget to take my medicine or something like that. It sounds like you have a delightful Governor. I can understand the families being enraged. Glad your Internet is working better. I think I finally got the problem solved with Comcast wanting to charge me rental for the modem that I own.
Judy, hope you had no flooding.
Etta Sue, I hadn't thought about our postings being like writing a blog but you are correct. It is as close to journaling that I will likely ever get. I don't think what you do on the computer is trivial and as you say it keeps our mind active. Good timing on the rain.
Jane, your postings are always welcome even if it is just to say hi for the day. That way we know you are OK.
Pat, we like the two recliners and the laptops. It is much better than watching TV all the time. Pat often listens to her books on CD and I will work a jigsaw or crossword puzzle or read. That treadmill sounds like work. The one we had broke and we got rid of it as neither Pat nor I could really use it very much.
Ruth Ann, I hope you can enjoy the student activities this weekend.
Marilyn, that sounds like some heavy bread. No wonder you wore the bread machine out. :)
Jeanne, sorry that your visit with your daughter had to be put off for a day but can understand not wanting to come on with a migraine.
Marilyn, you surely are a brave one, making up your own bread machine recipes! I'm not at all adventuresome, so I'll stick to the tried and true recipes I've been using for several years. The only change/adjustment I make is the amount of liquid. I've found I need to reduce it by a teaspoon or 1/2 teaspoon when the humidity is high (like today!). Other than that, I follow the directions and measurements exactly.
Happy Anniversary Pat and Paul!

:hb2: :hb2: :hb2:
That is the most recent picture I could find of you both! Do you remember where that was?
Jeanne it is better for your daughter to stop than continue in that kind of pain.
Larry I haven't been out to check on flooding. I will be doing that a little later. I have errands to run and hopefully play time with my camera.
2010 was the warmest this day in recent history, It is only 53 degrees today and only into the low 60's for the weekend. The higher temperatures won't start till Tuesday, and them the long range will be nice till next weekend, when the temperature is to drop to the low 60's again. On a lighter note if John heads south the lower temperatures will be nice for him.
Looks like I will have lawns to mow this weekend, I was hoping to do that during the week and be able to not worry about it when John is home. We are planning on planting the garden when he gets home.
Have a great day folks!
Thanks Judy! How nice of you!
I think that one was taken in the lobby of the hotel in Winchester, VA where Grace and her group from Markham were staying the night on their way to Myrtle Beach.
Great picture! You two are wearing the same colors - very coordinated .
I just put in a call to a doctor's office. They want all this information inc. date of birth and I had to talk fast - so, sometimes I write things down before making that call. Slow down World, please. Had to get in the fact that my last prescription was $80 and asked for something else because this isn't working. Unbelievable.
Need to take a walk and Don just left on his walk. It will start to become hotter today.
Larry: Routine can have its downfalls. If I carry one more thing than usual, I tend to forget one thing that is normal. So, now I have really tried to turn back and look and try to go over in my head what I am doing before going out the door. Even that doesn't always help. Our problem is we take too many things with us in the car now - cell phone, coffee mugs, lists, reusable bags for groceries (I blame that the most), reading materials for waiting times, sun glasses, my purse.... am forgetting something. :D
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FTurningCross.gif&hash=dcde3639bb1af01f223c6bf5454af035bf1d7eb1)
Now I am getting antsy and want to go somewhere. My cell phone battery died twice this week within 24 hours. I don't use it much at all!! I am told by those in the know that it is my Live Wallpaper that uses the battery....but I LIKE my live wallpapers!! So I am wanting to purchase one of those portable cell phone chargers!! I usually go to Noblesville but I think today I will go to Anderson....a change of scenery!
It is mostly sunny today with beautiful white fluffy clouds. There is wind but only 55°! Almost :snowman: weather! So I must remember to dress warm when I go out. My nephew mowed his yard last evening with two sweatshirts on and gloves! I hope pants, too! ;)tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la tra-la-la

I think we did have a sprinkling of snow early this morning, Etta Sue. It was so cold and as it got light outside, I'm sure I saw snow falling. None now though but it's very, very windy.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
PAT and PAUL!!
Thank you so much, Jane.
Hope we have the opportunity of getting together again in a nice little Cafe like we were in in Florence. ;)
That would be GREAT, Pat! :coffee: :)
Happy Anniversary Pat and Paul
Oh yeah that would be fun to get together again at some little place. Benny's was the perfect size and the folks there were fantastic.. Oh and BJ"S is a must. Last year when Keith and I went up the coast I had him stop at BJ'S for an ice cream and ask for him to take the tour. The young man was a sweetheart.
I couldn't remember the name of it, Marilyn! Thanks!
Thanks Marilyn, for the Anniversary wishes! ;)
G'afternoon folks.
Well this has turned into a rough day. Found out when I went for the mail that all John's benefits through work are cut of the day he turns 65. To top it off I will have to pay full price for my meds, there won't be a reduced rate until I turn 65 a year later. We don't have many options at this point. Just a very expensive year coming up. I set up eye and dental appointments to see if we can get all that done before July.
To improve the outcome of the day I went to Duchaney Falls to play with my camera. Here is one of them.
[attachimg=1]
The sun was shining for the first time this week. It was wonderful to be near the falls and watch the power of the water.
John will be home soon, so I am off... Have a great evening.
YOu will see more of my afternoon here (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=12634.new#new)!!!
Wow Judy great picture of the falls, i love to benear falls and listen to the power of the water. Get close enough to feel the mist on my face.
Nice photo, Judy. I clicked on your link and went to see the rest. Lovely!
Well, my cat got out tonight and I guess she thought that she saw another cat (which she abhors) and chased a smelly skunk! She's a stinking cat right now!
Meant to say yesterday, that Marilyn, I have a Breadman but not a deluxe model. I like it. My old bread machine which I've had for years and years, gave up the ghost!
Pat Skunk smell remedy....
In a plastic bucket, mix well the following ingredients:
1 quart of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
1/4 cup of baking soda
1 to 2 teaspoons liquid soap (Dawn works best)
Lauren may not like it, however it does work. Tomato juice doesn't!!!
Hi everyone. It is a cool 56 degrees and sunny here today but no wind. We had a nice Anniversary Celebration yesterday and a nice lunch. I didn't feel up to par yesterday and today is starting out the same way so don't plan to leave the house today except to get the mail.
Happy Anniversary Pat and Paul.
Judy, not good news on the health costs when John retires.
I just watched this short video that is so appropriate this Memorial Day weekend. I just had coffee this morning with a WW II veteran and on Tuesday of this week he and 24 others WW II veterans were taken by plan to Washington, D.C. to see the memorials and other appropriate sites. Each veteran had a someone with them with wheelchairs, were given meals and then flown back to Atlanta in the evening. Jack said it was a wonderful day but very tiring.
OK An update on John's benefit package.
1 It is his life insurance that is cut in half.
2. Long Term Disability is cut out entirely as of his birthday.
3. We will keep all our other benefits until he actually retires.
I breathed a sigh of relief when I heard this. Now what my misinterpretation of the letter has done is give us a heads up about drug and other benefits. He may not be able to retire until I reach 65 as well. This is not good news to me as I find winter very isolated, and was looking forward to his retirement.

PAT AND PAUL!!
I had a one-track mind yesterday and forgot to say Happy Anniversary, Pat and Paul!
I didn't find what I wanted at Walmart for a portable cell phone charger at Anderson so I searched for a Verizon Store near that Walmart. About two blocks away. So I went there. Of course, it was more $$$ than I expected but I got one that stays charged for a month and I can charge it with a USB cord in the car, on the laptop or the AC adapter.
Now I have installed software to the computer so I hopefully can put images from my laptop to my cell phone...even says 'wireless'. Hmmm!
I found on the web to download drivers and updates to my HP printer. Well, all of them said $$$. Or they didn't download. So I am back to using PSP X4 on the old laptop to scan, then save it to the old laptop, putting it on a flash drive and installing it on here! I think it is PSP X5 that won't recognize the HP as a scanner. I can Print from X5 but not scan.
I am so sorry. TMI!!
Cloudy and overcast and cold...only 56° and it is past noon! Did someone turn back the calendar? "++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++""++"
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FDailys%2F%253Cbr%2520%2F%253ELfct.gif&hash=b59d60cd18d7a3551a43a7b085a171199bb57157)
Etta Sue, Best place to get a phone charger is a truck stop....Don't know why, they are less expensive there!
Pat do you have your Blackberry up and running yet?
Larry, what a video! I shared it on Facebook. (I edited your post to show the YouTube)
Thanks for the recipe, Judy. I can't imagine using it on Lauren!!! I'm sure the smell will go soon. She's sure licking herself all over so she's not happy with it. ;) (I haven't got the phone yet, Judy)
Thank you, Etta Sue for the Anniversary wishes! Much appreciated!
I've really been enjoying Alistair Begg's speaking for awhile now and with the little graphic above, I should have put a link. He has a whole series right now on that topic that you can download free (http://www.truthforlife.org/resources/series/lessons-life-volume-2/). I have his messages as an APP on my tablet and I listen to him everyday.
Here's a link: http://www.truthforlife.org/resources/sermon/notes-flyleaf-my-bible/
Here's a topic where you sure don't need to be a photographer to join in! :D
Tisie sent a photo of her cat and all we need to do is post our suggestion for a Caption that would go along with the photo! So...let's have some fun! When we get a few Captions, we'll vote on which we think is the best one to go with the photo!
Add your caption here (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=12636.0)
That video is really powerful, Larry. I saw where Pat shared it on Face Book, and then I also shared it. I think everyone should see it. :)

WELCOME HOME
JANET!!!
 :groupwave:
I'm home!!! And so glad to be here. We had a wonderful trip, but are glad to get home, as always.
I haven't had time to read all the posts since I left, but will go back and catch up. Also will tell you about the trip as time goes on. We were up for 47 hours straight getting home! L-O-N-G Day! Got here about 5 yesterday evening, and now have all the laundry done and put away, have spent two hours with Beth (she really misses me when I am away) and have been TRYING to catch up on the computer. I'm getting sleepy now, so might take a little nap. ;)
Time to start a new week here. (http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=12639.0)
