Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Janet would you prefer that I say the University of Oregon Football team (Ducks) is playing the Arizona Team ( Sun Devils).

Oregon teams were originally known as Webfoots, possibly as early as the 1890s.[1] The Webfoots name originally applied to a group of fishermen from the coast of Massachusetts who had been heroes during the American Revolutionary War. When their descendants settled in Oregon's Willamette Valley in the 19th century, the name stayed with them.[2] A naming contest in 1926 won by Oregonian sports editor L. H. Gregory made the Webfoots name official, and a subsequent student vote in 1932 affirmed the nickname, chosen over other suggested nicknames such as Pioneers, Trappers, Lumberjacks, Wolves, and Yellow Jackets.[1][3][4] Ducks, with their webbed feet, began to be associated with the team in the 1920s, and a live white duck named "Puddles" began to appear at sports events.[2] Journalists, especially headline writers, also adopted the shorter Duck nickname.[3] In 1978, a student cartoonist came up with a new duck image called Mallard Drake, but students chose Donald as the official mascot by a 2–to–1 margin

Hi everyone.  Not so cold this morning but it is damp.  However, going to be cooling off soon.  Just back from coffee at McDonald's and now plan to stay home the rest of the day.  Pat is going to a 75th birthday party for one of our church friend ladies.  A group of ladies have been invited to go to a tearoom in Madison, Ga for the occasion.

Janet, sounds like you all made a wise judgement in not trying to get to Garden City.  Glad your book was intact.  I sure remember where I was the day Kennedy was killed. I wonder what kind of car they had when Confucius was alive. :)

Ruth Ann, that sounds like a terrible injury on your ankle.  Can you still walk on the ankle or do you have to use crutches?

Carol, I just now sent your question on quilting to Pat and I expect she will write to you directly as I would probably not give you very good second hand information.

Marilyn, hope your team wins today.  Always nice to eat out with friends.  We had eleven men at our ROMEO's luncheon yesterday.  That is always a good time.

Marilyn, thanks for the history of the team name Ducks!  I do hope you know I was teasing, and said what I did "tongue-in-cheek" so to say.  It just struck me funny, trying to picture a duck playing football.  Maybe the Aflac duck, though!  ;)

The play last night was very enjoyable.  Silly slapstick comedy, and just plain fun.  And the dinner was very good, too.  It took us 55 minutes to drive the 30 miles to Hugoton, and an equal time to drive home.  But we made it safely, and that's what counts!

Carol, thanks for the info on dry mustard and how you make deviled eggs and egg salad.  I will be trying that!  I have always used the mustard in jars, along with mayonnaise, adding a bit of salt, sugar if needed, and a little vinegar.  I have never used a recipe, just do it!

There is a big crafts fair at the civic center here today.  I spent a few hours looking around and visiting with people.  There are lots of scarves, jewelry, Christmas wreaths and such, and home-made goodies.  I bought three loaves of bread from the bread people (wonderful bread!) and a tin sign that says "What I love most about my home is those I share it with."  (May not be the exact quote.)  As I was walking in the door at home, I got a call saying I won a prize, but I can pick it up tomorrow.   ;D

Now I think I will see if I can take a little nap!

What a wonderful place this is.  There is so much that we can learn from each other.

I make my own mustard, I can make it either hot and spicy or just plain yellow, but I use a lavender flowers  for an extra good flavor. If anyone would like the recipe I will share it with you.

Marilyn I would love the recipe!

Here is an example of our weather last night and today!

Brrrr - oh, sorry you caught me shivvvvering. ;)

It's really cold outside, and I went out for a few moments today.

No, Larry, I don't need crutches, but must take smaller steps than usual because there's such a disparity in the length of the leg with the black boot and the other one. I feel a bit unstable, and sometimes choose to use a cane if there appears to be any uneven pavement where I'll be walking.

I'm so grateful - friends know I'm having difficulty walking, so bought and put my name on a shower gift for our pastor's daughter's wedding shower. I'll pay them back likely by buying meals for them. We enjoy eating out together.

Marilyn, thanks for the explanation of the Ducks. I had wondered about that name in the past. One of our TV announcers had grown up in that area and always roots for the Ducks.

Thanks for your kind comments about the latest injury. Seems something's always happening to at least one of us, doesn't it. This circle of caring is really a big encouragement to me.

Lov to all,
Ruth Ann
