JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Janet praying for Darrell as I type this.

We only got 5 kids last night, Keith shut the light off on about 7 pm because no one was coming. So we've been eating the candy.

After I went to the gym this morning and paying a few bills online, I went to the farm store for dog food and wood pellets, I use the pellets for Cat litter. Then I went over a few more blocks to Fred Meyer and bought some cat food, make-up and 2 new bras (spendy bras), came home and prepared lunch, after lunch I shampooed my hair. Tonight  is Mexican dinner night with our friends where we split a Macho Burrito.

Jeanne and Janet Yes I do put Sensa on Candy, I  put it on everything except liquids. I have lost 37.4 lbs in 19 months which My Dr. says is the right way yo lose the weight. So it isn't funny at all to put Sensa on the candy, I can eat whatever I want Sensa is NOT a diet.

Oh my goodness, Marilyn!  I was kidding - I didn't think it would go on candy.  Great that you're using, an at just the right rate.  I keep watching the Sensa ads, waiting to see you, so I can say "I know her and I knew her "when"!   :)

I'm here very late at night ... I am expecting the call from the repair shop in Williams CA in the morning telling me I can come pick up my car (with the new motor).  Williams is about an hour north of Sacramento on I-5 and that's as far as I got last week when I started home to Oregon.  Much frustration and delays later, and a rebuilt motor, and I hope to be heading home once again tomorrow.  Hopefully, I can make it home before dark 'cause I don't like driving in the dark.  It's even worse to drive in the rain after dark!  I'll be back as soon as i can get home, sort out the tons of mail, pay bills, REST a bit and sort myself out.

Jane, we'll be watching for your report that you are safely home - but bet some rest first!   <3

Marilyn, I was joking, too, as I thought you probably couldn't eat candy and expect to lose weight just because you put Sensa on it.  Sorry.  :-[  But you do eat healthy things, don't you?

Hallmark channel has Christmas stories on already.  Sigh........  Not that I don't enjoy them; I do.  Just not ready to think about hustle and bustle.  But I don't do that so much any more.

Jane we will be waiting, with some goodies and a cuppa something!  Drive safely!

Hi everyone.  It is a glorious 65 degree, sunny day with no wind.  I had a busy morning and had coffee at McDonald's and then attended a meeting.  This evening we are entertaining two couples for dinner.  Pat has been working on the food preparation for a couple of days so that she had little to do today other than make a chocolate pie and fix a bubble loaf.  She has the casserole ready for the oven and the vegetables cooked and just need to be quickly heated in the microwave.  This will be the first time we have used our dining room for dining in probably more than two years. Our son called last night saying our DIL had been in the hospital since Wednesday as had had chest pain but any heart problem has been ruled out.  They are going to do other tests and he is so in hope they find what her problem may be as she continues to lose weight, is disoriented and has been falling again.  She was dehydrated but they are going to perform other tests to try to find what the underlying problem is.  He is under a lot of stress with his wife's illness and the problem involved with managing a food business for the first time.

Janet, glad you are back to normal but not good that Darrel isn't feeling well.  This has been a tough year for him.  I see that he is feeling better.

Marilyn

Jeanne I haven't made my trip to Los Angeles yet for the Sensa makeover, I don't know how long I have to wait but I think they only do it twice a year.

Janet yes I do eat healthy foods, but every now and then I have candy, I also love my Whole Wheat bagels with fat free cream cheese.

Jane I'll waiting to see you coming back to the gym, I've missed you.

hello friends

We had a busy A lot of driving meeting a friend in New Market and yes lunch and a long visit then rushing
go for an appointment and out again for a church dinner with friends.  I am out of breath typing
and yes it was a very busy day.

Now we are quietly enjoying the evening at home.

I made it home about 7:45 p.m. this evening (Saturday).  My daughter drove me to Williams where I picked up my car and bought her lunch before we went our separate ways ... she south to Sacramento and me north toward Oregon.  I now have a new (rebuilt) engine in my car with a 3 year, 100 thousand mile guarantee... and my bank account is $4093.00 poorer.   :-\  I bought this car used 4 years ago for $5000. so this is like buying another car for $4000.  we'll see how long this motor lasts.

I'm tired, and need to sort out the tons of mail my neighbor saved for me .... bills in one pile and junk mail in the other ... then shred it and go to the recycle place .... also need to replenish my groceries, but that will be tomorrow or Monday.  Good thing I have an extra hour tonight ..... lotsa stuff awaits.

A beautiful thing happened this evening as I drove home.  Just after I passed the "Welcome to Oregon" sign, and rounded the curve, I saw the most beautiful, huge rainbow arching over the freeway.  A few moments later it was raining.  What a beautiful way for my Father to say "Welcome Home".... I love being an Oregonian!   :)

Carol

We stayed up an extra hour late last night and here I am wide awake an extra hour early.  All mixed up today and two of the children are coming over around noon.  Looks like we have no rush to get ready for service this Sunday.

Jeanne:  So sorry for your huge bill.  They had you in a poor position to argue since they knew you were traveling.  Glad that you can see the rainbow put there just for you!

Larry:  I will have to check on that quilter's name.  That sounds like  an ambitious project for Pat - or anyone for that matter.  Fun for her as well and you will have new bedspreads.

Ruth:  It sounds like a full and fun day for you.

Hi everyone on another cool but sunny and beautiful day here in Georgia.  We are suppose to get to 63 degrees this afternoon.  Today is a pledge day at church during our services and afterwards we have a special 'low country boil" dinner which is paid for from the funds of the grant our pastor for for his three month sabbatical. After the dinner someone is going to teach us how to do the Carolina Shag dance.  Of course Pat and I will just be observers and probably won't stay long but come home and rest.  We had a lovely time with our friends last night.  Pat had made a scrumptious dinner and we had a nice visit.  However, all this really got to Pat's back and the minute the folks left we took a muscle relaxant and went to bed.  I cleaned up the kitchen and then also retired for the night.  I took advantage of that extra hour of rest to not get up very early this morning.

Marilyn, I am sure eating a few things you really like occasionally does no harm and probably encourages you to stay on your good diet.

Ruth, your busy day sort of left me breathless.

Janet, sure glad to see your message saying you are home.  I know these last few weeks being away must have been somewhat of an ordeal and glad that is behind you.  It sounds like your car situation may have worked out well as what you had to pay for the new engine is no where near what would be required to get a new car or even and newer used car.  What a nice welcome home you had with the rainbow.  I haven't seen a rainbow in several years.

Carol, this is the second time Pat has joined the Pam Bono quilting club online.  She actually attended a quilting retreat a few years ago where Pam Bono was one of the teachers.  She really enjoys the site.  She wanted the patterns for the village and to buy them separately would have cost almost twice as much as the membership.  Those are what she chose as her gift for joining.  I think Pat would have to live to be 200 to make all the projects she has patterns for but she enjoys just looking at them and looking at the many quilting videos available on the web.

Gord called me yesterday and we had a nice long talk.  Both he and Mareen are still in a great deal of pain, she with her damaged knee (and probably back) and he has a hip that is terribly painful.  He asked for our prayers.  He also wanted me to tell you that he is having computer problems and that is why he hasn't been online much lately.
