Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Larry, I hadn't thought of that!  What was the character in Lil' Abner who always had the rain cloud over his head?  Something like Mlfpzek anyway, unpronounceable!  It does feel that was lately around this place!

It wasn't Kristi who went to McDonald's for coffee--it was me!  She went home for her breakfast, as she comes to work before 5 AM.  Today, she was testing leg strength.  How many pounds would you guess this ol' girl leg pressed?   ???  ???  Darrel guessed 100#........wrong!  I pressed 400#!!  How about that??

Lon is sick again, so no progress will be made here today.   :-\   :-\  I do wish that young man would take better care of himself, he is sick far too often.

Larry, thanks for doing the questions as you can.  I have begun typing up the stories.  AND I need to ask all of you (each of you?) to send Pat a good, big photo of you, preferably head and shoulder shot, to use along with your story.  And if you have others from different time periods of your life you would like to send her as well, to be interspersed throughout your story, that would be lovely.  Thanks so much.

The dumb old wind is blowing AGAIN today.  Ugh. :P

That's all for now!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone. Just back from coffee on a bright and and sunny if somewhat cool morning.  I plan on staying home the rest of the day and will likely rest a lot of am feeling weary again today.  I enjoyed our ROMEO's luncheon yesterday at the Longhorn Steak House but was glad when I got home.  We had 10 guys or so in attendance.

Janet, I don't know where I got the "little white cloud" but it may have been from Lil' Abner although have never been a big fan of the comics.  Sorry I mixed up you message on who went to McDonald's.  Maybe Kristi went home and had a nap as that is mighty early to have to get to work.  I am really impressed with your pressing 400 pounds.  Wow.  I'll see if I can't dig up some photos to send to Pat to go along with my story when I get it finished.

Hope you all have a good day.

Janet

Larry, good to see your post this morning.  We had a rain last night, not a lot, but very welcome.  And it should have cleared the air of all the dust that has been blowing here.  I do hope the wind doesn't blow again today!   :-\

Lon was sick yesterday but said he was going to work here today (he usually doesn't work on Saturdays) so I am wondering why he isn't here yet.  I do hope he comes and that he gets a lot done today.  A guy is to come to clean the bedroom and hall carpet tomorrow and we need to be ready.  Yes, it is Sunday, but this guy has another job and that's when he can come--in the afternoon, so we can still go to church.  I look forward to getting my house back into order!  And NO MORE interference from the enemy!!  AMEN.

Beth just called to ask if I will come and read to her from a new book John sent her.  We finished Chicken Soup for the Christian Soul a few days ago.  She says he sent her two more books.  He is such a blessing!

See you kind folks later!

Janet I too am in search of photos to go with my story.

We have a big storm coming in here it is the tail end of a Japanese Typhoon and the winds are supposed to get up yo 70 mph from time to time.  We only need to go out to get milk then it is home to stay until we both go to work on Monday. I just hope the dogs don't have to go out during the worst part of the storm, but if they do we have to do what has to be done.

Janet:  Do I have to have a photo?  I am going to take some time getting you the answers as we are knee deep in moving furniture and sorting/throwing/donating stuff and it is taking forever.  We are paying two men to move the heavy furniture downstairs as the boys will all be working whenever the rug is laid.  I think a heavy bird hit your house and ran away.  Or, even a deer as a dead deer was found on son's fence probably being chased by the coyotes.  Sad to say.  You do have some humdingers to tell.   ;)

Yea, tomorrow is Sunday so I won't be lifting and moving.... it is also our anniversary and this year we have not one thing planned.  We had family gathering last weekend and everyone had to work on moving stuff in the mountains so that was sure a lot of fun... well, it was good to gather but no time to sit and relax.

Have a good weekend and enjoy your Sunday

I thought Janet might be interested in knowing that breaking glass is something that has been happening for many years.....with no apparent reason.  A couple of years ago my outside glass door suddenly gave a terrible bang, bottom glass panel exploded in a million little pieces.  No reason.....Mentioned this to you folks at the time.  My research on internet showed that this is a serious problem that happens to showers, glass tables, things with tempered glass.  The window person told me that it happens to buildings where all the windows will shatter.  Has been happening for many years.  The site that showed the most information is not available now....probably because it told too much info. I recently has a glass coffee mug explode in my hand, pieces everywhere and I was left holding only the handle.  Fortunately it was empty at the time.

Industry experts and the Consumer Product Safety Commission acknowledge the tempered glass problem and are working on creating standards. However, those manufacturing standards would only be voluntary. (quote)

We had a terrible thing happen last week.  Our 69 yr. old neighbour dropped dead from a sudden heart attack at work.  He had a very responsible job with the gov. and was going to retire this year rather than at 65.  It is so sad as they did not have kids together and he and his son from long ago marriage, were not close.  It has been a shock to my SIL as he is now 60 and works so hard we are always worried about his health.  Wendy is the only one that B will see as she is a very private person.  So Wendy takes meals over and tries to comfort when allowed.  Although Wendy is not well and today I am cooking as she needs to rest.  Will spare B that though, as my cooking is not anywhere as good as that of my daughter.

There was some excitement here last week as a Disney movie was being filmed at the end of our block.  It stars someone named Zenday who was on Dancing With The Stars last year.  Amanda got a picture with her.  I walked through their site as it is on my usual route, and they were really nice and friendly.  Guess they didn't think there was much danger from a little old lady with a cane!  The folks whose houses were used received lots of money, and everything was restored when movie was finished.  Location was the secret as it was perfect for this project.

Pat, I have battled HB pressure for 40 years and even with 3 medications, it is always really high.  If possible, watch salt and diet, take walks and listen to soothing music.  Hope you can control it without pills.

Time to go.  Thought Janet might like to know she is not being stalked by a nasty something or other and breaking glass seems to have become a problem for many.

God Bless,
Liz

Hey there, y'all!   Looks like I'll be in California a while longer, so it will be even longer before I will be able to work on Janet's questions.  I have them saved in my email, but will wait until I'm at my own computer to move them into my documents to work on them.  As for pictures, my scanner isn't working so IF I can find photos, I'll have to sent them via snail mail to whomever.   :-\

Company just arrived so...... I'm outta here.

Liz, thank you for that information.  Darrel had said he thought the loud WHUMP sound could have been the air/gas escaping from between the panes.  I still don't understand how there could be a little dent in the screen, though it isn't torn or broken, from the outside toward the inside.  And there is a round hole, roughly the size of a baseball, through the outer pane.  It's a mystery, for sure.  So glad your coffee mug was empty when it exploded!  Wow!  That might have been really bad.  I have heard of liquids suddenly exploding after being in the microwave, but hadn't heard of this happening.  Interesting...I may just have to research that a bit.  Won't fix my window but may satisfy my curiosity some.

Lon didn't come to work today, I hope he isn't still feeling bad.  I got Darrel's closet cleaned out, the other half.  He had moved things out of the front half, but I don't want the carpet only half cleaned!  Also have moved everything I am "horse" enough to move by myself out of the bedroom.  Maybe the carpet cleaning man will help me move those last few items when he gets here tomorrow.  Oh, how I pray when we get things put back in order we will NOT have any more unexpected disasters for a long, long time!  (sigh...)

Carol, Pat has requested a photo to go with the story.  If you have one from sometime back, that would be okay, or she can probably use the one you use on here, as she can take just you from it.  Don't worry about the timing, as we will post them one at a time, anyway, over a period of time.

Liz, I realized, when I read your post, that I haven't sent you the questions yet!  I will do that!  Sorry about your neighbor and hope the widow will become less reclusive, as that is not good for her or for anyone else.  What fun, seeing the movie activity!

Resting between things - We worked on re staining baseboards in the basement.  Have been organizing and shelving things and donating.  We paid for the rug installation and moving of furniture for the walkout basement and I just had a phone call they won't move anything with a plug in it - treadmill, nor anything with glass - a small china cabinet.  Whew - we just moved those two things - I should deduct that from their pay.  Thankful that we can still do these things but it sure isn't easy anymore.  A nap is on my mind right now.

Janet:  I did see that note about a photo.  Will get back to this possibly next week.  I am trying to finish a quilt top and now have to bring sewing machine upstairs and so forth.

It is really hot outside today.  Funny weather.

Liz:  It is so sad when someone works every day and then doesn't get to enjoy any retirement.  Our good friend had that happen as he died just before his first SS check arrived.  They had just bought a tiny cabin and he died at the cabin.

Jane:  Enjoy your stay in California!
