Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Hi everyone.  We are enjoying another beautiful, sunny and crisp morning.  My schedule today involves picking up a friend to take to coffee and then attending the Wisdom Group at church at 11:30.  Later this afternoon I hope to have enough energy left to start working on my office closet.  Scott put the shelving together I have had for several weeks.  Now I need to remove the big plastic containers from the closet, put the shelves in and then start going through the boxes and taking things I really don't need to keep down here up to the attic, donate them or discard them.  I need to make the containers a bit lighter so I can handle them more easily.  I just haven't had the energy to tackle them the last few days.

Ruth Ann, I hadn't realized you had a tie to South Carolina and the Columbia area.  It sounds like your brother is one busy man.  I sure hope the work at the YMCA will be beneficial to you.

Janet, I like seeing the pumpkin in a pie on my table.  When I was growing up we used to raise a few pumpkins but it has been many years since we have bought one whole.  I think today is the day you head to the wedding.  I hope you stay well and feeling like participating in the various events associated with a wedding.

Hi, friends,

Wow - it's been a challenging day. First off I took the disabled lady to her doctor. It was a real production this time, for she now has advanced so much she cannot lift her legs to walk at all. So, a friend of hers brought her to the curbside using her own wheelchair. Next, I timed how long it took her to transfer from my car to the wheelchair at the medical center - 20 minutes. And, a 3 hour wait for me while the doctor treated her.

Next, a good thing - I've worried about taking her to get groceries, since I can't lift the bags of heavy stuff she buys, get them to her apartment, lift them again, then go back downstairs with the cart and get my own unloaded, then put away in my apartment. Well, she arranged to have someone begin doing her shopping for her, so our Lord arranged this while I was concerned about my need to make other arrangements.

Then a balky Chrome browser that wouldn't update the Shared Google Drive with my son who is overseas. Finally I went into Settings and chose a reset of all settings. Now, it works well.

Then Chrome was making it difficult for me to work with my online banking connection. So, with literally 2 minutes to spare before the bank closed, we finally got that straightened out.

So, today I feel like a survivor!

Y'all have a very good day.

Hi everyone.  It is still dark outside but I see it is already 65 degrees and will get up to 84 degrees this afternoon.  I thought yesterday would be a relatively quiet day but we decided to go out and eat last evening and then make a trip to Walmart for groceries and prescriptions.  I did go to coffee and the Wisdom group in the morning.  Scott came over and went to dinner with us and helped his mother with the grocery shopping and helped her get some ribs in the freezer.  Today he plans on coming over this morning and helping me get my office closet setup with the new shelves and a lot of things taken upstairs, put in a donation box or just discarded.  I have some cameras and speakers, etc. that are outdated and I know I will never use them again so no reason to hold on to them.  Today is also the day the housekeeper is due.  Because of our travel a few days ago we missed the last cycle for her to clean so her efforts are really needed.  That will be plenty for today.

Ruth Ann, it sounds like your friend is simply becoming too much for you to deal with.  Does this lady live alone and if so how does she manage?  Don't forget that before you can help someone else you must take care of your own needs.  Nice to read you did have some positive things happen for you yesterday.

Hi, friends,

This is message number 2. Someone called me, so it ended up I had to reboot my computer, thus losing message number 1. :)

Larry, you're absolutely correct. I feel she will need ambulance rides soon. It makes me sad that she is in this condition, but you're so right - I must take care of myself.

Now, I'm going to get a box ready to mail overseas this afternoon, go feed the cat, and then take me out for a bit of supper.

Much love to all,
Ruth Ann

Hi everyone.  It is a very dark and rainy morning.  We had almost an inch of rain in a little over and hour with a lot of lightning and thunder.  We had one strike that sounded like it was in my neighbors back yard and we momentarily lost power.  The poor people in Columbia and the other areas struggling with flooding and it aftermath, South Carolina had had another inch of rain in about 15 minutes this morning and now have more flash flood warnings..  The Weather Channel just said that one of the creeks around there had gone from 1 foot to over 7 feet deep in an hour. They did a graphic illustration to show just how much water all of the rain represented and it is beyond imagination.   This rain is to continue over South Carolina all day long. I have always tried to be sure my home wasn't in a flood plain and I like living close to the top of the hill or ridge, as we currently do.  I had a very busy morning yesterday but did get my office organized with my new shelving for my office closet.  I got a lot of things taken up to the storage area in our attic.  My plan today is just to take it slow and easy.  With the rain I think I will just stay home all day and will enjoy the football games this afternoon.

Ruth Ann, I am happy to see you recognize the need to take care of yourself and that the lady needs more help than you are able to provide without compromising your own health.

Good afternoon, friends,

Larry, thank you so much for keeping our conversation going. I'm sure you miss our participants as much as I do.

The temps here are to go down to low 40s tonight. Brrr.

I think the lady realized it was getting too much for me when she turned to say something to me and saw the pain on my face from lifting her walker into the trunk. Since then she hasn't been as demanding as before.

Well, it's been a stay-in-touch-by-phone day. :)

Y'all come on back, we miss you.

Love to all,
Ruth Ann

Hi everyone on another overcast Sunday morning with the temperature around 60 degrees.  Today is Sunday School and Church day and then expect we will eat lunch out.  Nothing else on the schedule other than watch a Pro football game or two and rest this afternoon.

Ruth Ann, this is becoming a bit of a two or three way conversation but know that Janet is at the wedding this weekend and others are undoubtedly busy or not feeling up to par.  Glad the lady recognized that you were not up to what she was asking you to do (or sounds like was expecting you to do).  Stay warm and hope you are feeling better this morning.
