Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Janet, I have no problem with your proposal as long as the questions are along the line with which you use to interview participants so far.  I really enjoy all the stories you have posted, and the history they share with which most of us can't identify.  I'm afraid anything you could illicit from me would much more uninteresting, however.  :-\
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Jane now you sound like 95% of those I interview!!

What wonderful posts to read tonight.  It's been a busy few days.  Today we went to St. Jacobs, Ontario to view the horrible site of the burned out main Market building which happened late Sunday night (early Monday morning).  It's so awful to see.  I've spent so many, many days there over the years.

Janet, what a wonderful interview to read!  Love them.

Praying for you, Larry.

I'm not going to mention more tonight as it's going on 12:30 midnight and I should really be asleep.

Because your lives have been so much more interesting than mine!

The sun is shining, and the dogs have had their walk.  It was earlier today. I have to go to a friends and pick beans!  As mother said "beans beans the musical fruit".

John will be home early today we have an appointment later.

I have to get going, God bless you all!

His Eye Is On The Sparrow
(Click to hear music)

Why should I feel discouraged?
Why should the shadows come?
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Chorus:
I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

"Let not your heart be troubled," His tender words I hear,
And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears
Tho' by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Chorus:
I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Chorus:
I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

Janet

I think ALL of you will have interesting stories to share!

I have a video telling, with many proofs it is true, that all the horrible fires we and Canada, too, are suffering are being set by terrorists!  They call it "economic jihad."  How can man be so evil and influenced by satan as to do such terrible things to people they don't even know?  How we must pray!! (And I deliberately did not capitalize the enemy's name, don't want to give him any respect!)

This little chorus keeps running through my mind this morning:

The Lord's still working on me
To make me what I ought to be ,
How loving and patient He must be!
The Lord's still working on me.

Today I CHOOSE to praise my wonderful Lord.

Pat, so good to see your post this morning!  <3

Here you go Janet!

Pat

It was so cold last night.  I have a light summer blanket on my bed and I was too cold to get up and get another blanket!!!  :)

JudyB

Pat Get Lauren to cuddle with you!  Gat another blanket and have it on ready for tonight!
I had the fire going last night and warmed the house up before bedtime.  Heading out now to pick beans!

Pat

Lauren is shedding right now.  I must give her another brushing.  She sleeps only in her bed as I don't like the hair on the sheets!!!
But I will definitely get another blanket for tonight.

I had an extra blanket last night and will again tonight, I'm sure.  Frost and freeze warnings were posted for last night and we probably won't reach 70 F today.

I just got back from an errand to the next town and I was surprised to see that there is no color at all yet.  Seems to me it should have started at least a little by now.

Who is well known for singing "His Eye is on the Sparrow"?  My mind is blank right now.

Our printer has passed away and Don is on the internet looking for deals.  It has been with us a long time so that is to be thankful for  indeed.

Janet:  When we lived in Texas, there was a wonderful t.v. show called "Country Reporter" or similar name.  He would take off in a van with another person to man the camera, stop in some really tiny town and sit down to chat with anyone - nothing planned.  Every single person had a story and he could get it out of them and that is just what you are doing.... isn't that interesting?  It may have had Texas in the title as everything in Texas had that stamped on everywhere you looked.   ;)

Larry:  for some reason, when trying to post a message here there is a block that appears and it says that the connection is closed or whatever.  So, thanks for taking out the duplicate - it isn't interesting enough to post twice so that is good.    I do hope that Stacey can be helped from this pain.

Pat
:  Nice point about praying alone.  It is also easier to "think" about everything needing prayer when alone.  Just wanted to let you know that Jenny and Bob made it over for a little visit and we live so close but have not been together since your visit.  They are a fun couple and we enjoyed the visit.

A really strange thing has been happening with my email notifications this week.   :-\  I get a notification for each reply posted rather than just the first one until I read that one.  Does that make sense?  I usually would get a notification when there was a reply, and then no more even if there were several posts to follow, until I clicked on the link.  Oh well .... it's been interesting.

Carol, was it Mahalia Jackson who sang that song so beautifully? .... George Beverley Shay also sang it a lot.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Janet

Jane, the gremlins are haunting my computer, too.  When I post a reply, it takes quite a while, then I get a notice "Page Not Available or something, then when I click out of that and go back, there is my post.  I expect something similar happened to Carol's post, too.

We are off for Moscow, to attend grandbaby Jenna's first birthday party.  (great-granddaughter.)
See you tomorrow, most likely!  :)

Carol

I am surprised that my earlier message did post because there were two messages that it didn't.  Back from  buying a new printer for under $30.  We shall see.

Jane:  I was thinking of a man's voice & it must be G B Shea.  What a voice!  I still remember hearing so much because he was the most popular singer in our house.

Janet is going to Russia.  At least I thought that first when I saw Moscow - there is a Moscow, Idaho too.

The message seems to post after I sign out.

Jeanne Lee

The one I think of for "His Eye is On the Sparrow" is Ethel Waters.  She sang it in a movie - something about a "....Wedding".

I am having the same problem with posting.  It isn't just you folks.  If I press send again it will post twice.

John is home, we have a busy weekend ahead and looks like not much sleep.

We may have had a touch of frost, last night I suspect, just the tips of the pumpkin leaves are affected.  I was at a friends today and there was no sign of frost in her garden.

I must go and get things prepared for tomorrow before I run out of steam!

Everyone is having the same problem with posting.  I've notified Michael.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It was a very busy day and I didn't have time to write the morning.  After coffee we headed to a follow-up appointment with my cardiologist.  Then we had to leave from there to get to Athens.  On the way back we stopped and had a late lunch early dinner and it was 4 pm when we got home.  We both took a nap as were tired and sure it will be an early night.

Janet, I think your idea is intriguing and I think it might be a good way to help us have our life stories written for our children or grand childen.  Both my father and mother left  brief life stories, with my mother recalling specific events and names from her youth to old age.  Dad's was briefer but good.  This would be a large amount of work for you.

Judy, isn't this early for frost?  I think each of us would have interesting stories and I think you would have a very interesting story.  After all most of us probably have never known a woman truck driver, as an example.

Carol, I think it was Ethel Waters who was so famous and sang that hymn.  I saw you on TV several times singing. I have had that same message appear when posting but when I reload the page it has posted.

Jane, your story would be just as interesting as any others.

Pat, fire does so much damage.  This must have been a very large building.  Was it like a mall?

Jane Walker

Well ...... Here's what I found:

Soooo I guess we're all a little bit right.  BTW I don't see G.B.Shea listed as an artist who sang this song. hmmm

Hi everyone on another beautiful day here in Georgia.  I wrote late yesterday so not much new.  I did find out that my very good friend, Rod, is in the hospital.  He is 79 years old and his health has really failed in the last year.  I saw him Wednesday and he could hardly walk and was very unstable and early Friday morning was awoken with a terrible headache.  He saw the doctor yesterday afternoon, who sent him directly to the ER and from there he was admitted.  I plan on stopping by the hospital this morning or afternoon to check on him.  Another friend who has been in the hospital was back at coffee this morning, which was a pleasant surprise.  Expect to have a quiet weekend.

Jane, that hymn has been recorded by a lot of people.

Janet

Well, we made a really FAST trip, as it only took us about 30 minutes to come home from Russia!  ;)  The weather was perfect for a back yard party, but the flies were terrible!

Larry, yes, it will be a lot of work, but it is a "labor of love" and I am happy to do it.  I will prepare the questions and try to get them emailed to each of you within a week.  Then, as they are returned to me, I will begin writing the stories.  Thanks to each of you for being willing to help with this project.  And I do kinow that families really appreciate these stories being written down.

Yesterday, I attended the Chamber of Commerce meeting at the assisted living place, as I had been invited to come and sing with the residents.  After the meeting, one lady told me she wanted to thank me for doing her Dad's story, and that began what I jokingly told Darrel was a meeting of my "fan club."  So many people appreciate my efforts, and were lavish in their praise.  I came home feeling like a million bucks!  :) ;)  Really, it is nice to know your efforts are worthwhile and appreciated.  Sure made my day!

I have written some thank you cards for Beth for her birthday remembrances, now I will take them to the home and help her "mouth sign" them.  And that will be another thing I can mark off my list!

Church tonight, then tomorrow to Hugoton to hear Chip Brim in both services, then again on Monday night!
