On my walk today, went to another church, I'll post pictures next week after the DPChallenge for hope is finished. But outside each church are these old women begging for money. People give to them, thinking that they have done their 'good deed' for the time, and God will bless them for it.Â
When I see a face like that, I wonder what life stories lie behind it. Are these women truly in need, or is it just an easy way to get money? I like to know before I give to someone whether the need is genuine, or if not. I know there are many truly destitute people, though.

A lot of living behind that face,
JANET A whole lot of living. :-\
Thanks Mike ...
Jane - I guess it's not too amazing, but those were the very words that lept to my mind upon seeing that picture. But yet, with all the obvious years and experiences, did she learn anything about "the one thing needful?"
AL it allmost looks like a quizzical expression ... what is she asking? Does anyone have the ANSWER for her? I wonder too ....
Poor lady.
May we realise that not all countries are privileged to have Government or other Pension Schemes. It must be so humiliating for these peole having to beg for their bread. Where else can they go but to the Lord's House.
May they find that Our Lord feeds body and soul...Amen.
I like this photo...
The shadows and lighting are just right. What a good study, Mike.
Yes, lots of questions.
Very good photo, Mike. Just look at those lines on her forehead. Lots of worry...lots of frowning. She looks dark, weathered from the sun and harsh winters. Yes, lots of life in this picture and one has to wonder if she has found the answer to living or is still 'needy'.
that is a great photo!
Wonderful image!
Looks like something that should be in National Geographic with a story behind it.
Now it's up to Skief.."for the rest of the story"
Good work; excellent f-stop choice for short DOF. I LIKE IT!
