Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

This is not my farm, but it's near my home.

What a beautiful picture. I love the silhouette effect the trees and windmill have against the sky.  And that sky, wow the ripples of the clouds are amazing.  Well done.

Whistlinsadler

Here's a crop I did of that to balance the composition a little.

myfotoguy

Nice shot! I like the crop, I think it looks much better :)

What a great image.

I like the crop too but just hoping that the windmill wasn't too centralized and I think you've done just fine.

Love the colour as well.  Very, very nice.

Love the treatment you gave this-fits well. I like both versions. The 1st because more of the sky details specifically the cloud formations, the 2nd image and crop-the compositon is more to the windmill and tree. Nice job!
God's Word is truth, You can trust and believe what he says more than any human word!!!--"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him;I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him;I will be with him in trouble,I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

I love this shot. I wish I was there to shoot it too.
I love it so much that I took the liberty of recomposing it.
I really hope you don't mind. Please forgive me if I overstep my bounds.

This is what I would have done if it was mine.
I would concentrate on the windmill and eliminate the competing tree.
I would also add more warmth to the background and darken the windmill.
Here is my vision. I hope you like it.[attachimg=#]

I don't know ...... I'm not much of a critic....I like the first one with no crop..  I like that big tree.....that is just my take.

Whistlinsadler

Hmmm. I like it without the big tree.

Oh, by the way, I never, ever mind revisions of my work. I'm stuck in permanent learning mode in every area of life. I'm addicted to learning and never plan to stop. I learn a lot when others play with my work, and I consider it a compliment.

That being said, I'm going to have to go out and re-shoot this photograph now, and here's why. Getting rid of the tree was inspirational. I do like the tree, but they do compete for attention. But then to keep it as a landscape you had to crop a bunch off the top as well as the tree. Now the windmill is too high, at least for my taste. Draws my attention up and out of the photo. But you were right about the tree--I just didn't give you enough to work with on the other side.

So now I have to go back out on that road. Which, by the way, is a nice, historical road. An old stagecoach road paved for modern use, and probably traveled by Abe Lincoln, as well as local notables. Of course, the windmill is a bit more modern--not too much, though.  ;)

LaughingPeppers

Thank God! I was worried; I might have offended you.
I am glad and looking forward to see the next shot.

Blessings,
Mario

I like both ways of dealing with the windmill.  With the tree it's a sort of comfortable feeling.  Without the tree, and the windmill standing alone, it feels lonely and deserted.  Just my take.

That is politically correct. Lol!!

It may be a while before I can get a good sky like that.

Whistlinsadler

Hmmm...I don't know. Now it looks off centered.

I gave up on getting a gorgeous cloud day. Plus, I can't remember which country road I was on when  I found this windmill.  ??? So I went back and found the raw image and there was some on the left to work with.

Whistlinsadler

Well...the more I look at it, the more I like it. Now it's about the sky, with the windmill kind of framing it on the right.

CapturedByGrace

I love seeing windmills and stuff like this.  Is it an old wooden one?  Beautiful image.  I like the 1st crop.
