In the center of Darwen stands this sculpture, it has a very similar look to it, to the Trinity bomb nicknamed the gadget, also round the base, there is an inscription, Absqe Labore Nihil, in Latin, translated to German, it reads, Arbeit Macht Frei. Look at a picture of the Nazi concentration camp gates, and you will find this inscription over them, veird. Actually the inscription is on Darwen's coat of arms. The building in the background to the left is, Provident hall, there was a lovely ballroom up there, with a well sprung floor, now its a nightclub. Also one of the upstairs rooms was Darwen Camera Clubs former premises.
