JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Got back from Bolton, and went up to Margery's, there we had tea, liver and onions, my way. then stopped till something to nine, I didn't get a taxi home, but went to photograph another of them posters, did that, then decided to walk down Bolton road, the A666, a while, when I came level with the bowling green pub it just looked so attractive, the mellow stonework, the soft glow of light, and a touch of colour from the bus shelter lights.

Inspired by this I decided to walk on a little further, then realsised the Shell garage was close and lit up, so was the New Star Chinese takeaway, right next door.

The garage with its late night convenience store, is at the bottom of Bury Fold lane, where Jehovah's Witnesses have their kingdom hall. When Margery came out from the Witnesses, they had just laid the foundations of the kingdom hall. Oh you can actually see the kingdom hall windows through the filling station.

Well I've got this far, I wonder if I can make it down to Mill Gap, there's bus shelters along the route, I can rest in, so I tried it, yep got to Mill Gap, and liked the colours of the restaurant across the road, took a few pot shots at it, and like this one in particular, with the cars moving along the road.

What I liked was the warm modern lighting and shop fronts set in old Victorian mill buildings and terraced houses, I wanted in this series to show some of the character of the southern end of Darwen, and in the twilight there is a magical aura even in the old and new buildings, the last shot looking down to El Greco's restaurant. Is it El Greco's, I'm not sure now?

What a lovely old town.  You have succeeded in showing the character of old and new, the lights are beautiful.  What a lovely stroll you have taken!
