JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

I took these pictures at my grandparent's house.
Does anyone know what kind of bird it is? ???

Got any tips for me? I'd really appreciate it.
Thank you for looking! ;D

maybe some kind of finch???...Is it captured-a caged pet, in nesting box, wild??? I will see if I can find something...
God's Word is truth, You can trust and believe what he says more than any human word!!!--"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him;I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him;I will be with him in trouble,I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

It would be good to be able to see the whole body, Norty!

It's great to see your photo.

Well, I would have gotten the hole bird, but I just wanted a good close-up picture.
And it was easy to get, too. That bird let me get so close to it...I even got to pet it real lightly! :woohoo:
It was awsome!

At first I thought it was a female or juvenile House finch, but after looking in my bird book, I'm pretty sure it's a female or juvenile Cassin's finch because the beak is a closer match.  The beak is more like a sparrow, unlike the House finch.  It would have been an easier identification if we could see the whole bird.

It's fun to get them so close up and even to touch it!  Wow!

I did post to you Norty...The post went into cyberspace.  Here are some questions for you.

How big is it?  Compare the size to a Hawk, Robin, or Finch.
The bill suggests it is a seed eater.
Also is this in its juvenile plumage?

As Pat has said it would be good to see the whole body.

These are good shots though!

Norty, you were able to touch the bird?  That's awesome!   :pine:
