JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

On Sunday (Mother's Day), I travelled to Janice's home and noticed that she still had her Christmas wreath on her front door.

Even thought it is quite a pretty wreath, I thought it was strange so asked her why.

She told me to take a photo of it for her and to get a little closer...

So, I did and this is what I saw!  This little bird was fast asleep! But as soon as it heard the noise of my camera....

...it opened up it's mouth so wide but no mother was there to fill it!

Mother was up over the door really screaming at my intrusion into her nursery.

So, I took one more photo and left the scene.  Needless to say, Janice's wreath will stay on her front door till these little ones vacate it.

Pat, I have never seen photos like that before.  They are incredible.  Just fancy having birds nesting so close to the family.  Perhaps they have heard that the people inside the house are bird lovers.

Those were such a treat to see, thanks for posting them up for us.

Anthony.

Oh Pat they are so cute.  What a joy to have a bird on your front door.  You would think that it would be scared from othe door opening and shuting all the time that it would leave.

BTW those are very nice close up shots.

Thanks for sharing.

Pat

Thanks Anthony and Sonja....

That door is completely out of bounds now till the birds leave.  Janice has everyone using the back door.  It wasn't used that much anyway so maybe that's why the little mummy bird felt that it would be safe in the wreath!

Wonderful shots Pat. That open mouth is a familiar sight to you and your family. I am remembering the other pohots you posted the link to showing the baby bird that your grandchildren were caring for. Robbie the Robin I believe.

Great photos, Pat.

Reminds me of the time we had a camper and camped every weekend in the mountains.
We left the camper there and when we returned one time; we found a nest ; first the eggs ; then we watched when the little ones were born.

THe best part ; the nest was over the stove vent so I could not cook on the stove !!

Hubby had to do all cooking out on the barbecue grill !!!

Hubby thought for sure I planted that nest there myself.

Good thought !!

Sonifo

hahahahaha....well did ya?  Just kidding.  That is so funny! ;D

Pat, another great series of photos.

Wow! What a great opportunity and interesting situation. Very good photography too!

A late friend of mine in Denver lived in an appartment, second floor. Out side his window was the upper branches of a tree. A robin made her nest. Ernie set his 35mm camera up with a long lens and photographed the whole cycle from nest building to the chicks leaving the nest. I have long wished I had had such an opportunity.

Now you have one. Good for you!

Darryl

Sonifo

I agree, Darryl.  Pat seems to find all the cool shots.  ;D  She is always in the right spot at the right time and plus have her camera ready.

Pat    -       Great Story and Pictures !!

Though I wonder if when the this newborn feathered friend starts to practice using it's new found beak that Janice and family will be answered the front door often -  with no one there. :) :)

HAHAHA!  I'm sitting here giggling at your comment, Tom.   Thanks so much.  I didn't hear if the birds "knocked at the door or not".    But that door was "Out of Bounds" for the kids to use until those little ones flew the nest.

Darryl, thanks for your kind remarks as well.  I was just about a foot and a half away from this nest so didn't need any zoom but I'd really like to be able to upgrade my poor taped up camera.  It's just passed the 10,950 photos mark!  It's served me well.

LOL  Sonja, you have some neat shots too!  I love your photos!

I forgot to say that this year, Janice thinks that the same bird came back and built another nest in Janice's wreath on her front door and so the Christmas wreath was still up at Easter!
