This little critter ran in front of me last week on my journey from the mailbox. I didn't have my camera with me, but I had my two-way radio. I beeped my hubby, who was in the house recovering from foot surgery. When I told him what I had tree'd, he hobbled the camera out to me so I could get this shot! He deserves all the credit.

After researching (and hoping we weren't living on top of an old toxic waste dump!) we discovered this is one of 3 AL squirrels - an Eastern Fox.

I've never even heard of one!

I wonder if you have its mate in the area as well?

I'm not sure if this one's mate is around or not. I haven't seen this one since the day I took the picture - our driveway is about 1/4 mile long, and he was about half that distance from the house and hasn't ventured closer.

The squirrel in my profile pix lives in the tree right next to the house - he too is odd looking creature, but he doesn't have all the white and tan on him. Just the black face. He happens to be in show business - every few days, he makes an appearance and performs some type of show for us. The last time we saw him, he was break dancing and playing with a stick - tossing it, then fetching, then juggling. It was pretty funny!

First time I've ever seen one of these, too.  God has made so very many creatures, and He has made them so wonderfully!  Thanks for showing us this one!

I have never seen one of these creatures either. But God is so good to give us allthese wonderful variation on a species. Great shot,

They are facinating.

Can you just imagine God saying on the day he created animals saying "Hey this is fun leat make another different one!".
