Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

JennyW: Autumn is shaping up to be quite beautiful this year! 2021-10-02, 12:24:03

I posted an image of this species into the current Mini Challenge, but thought I would post a couple more here as I think they deserve some attention. :) They are gorgeous little birds, with beautiful yellow coloured chests, and I got really excited when I saw one of these as I had never seen one before. Don't seem to have many Australian birds on here, so I will do my bit to show off Australian birds. 8)

And one of the nest they build, pretty camouflage isn't it!

Hope you enjoy them.

Australia does have some beautiful birds for sure. The nest building abilities of them are without a doubt amazing and no wonder with a God and maker that we have. A well camouflaged nest for sure.

Great shots Tim.

Amazing for sure Tim. If I had seen this photo without the nest being pointed out It's quite possible I could have thought that you were looking a fork to make a big sling shot with.

They are quite ingenious and they are all different. I see nest here in the states made by birds of pray in the very top of our pine trees that have a fork right in the top. I have often wondered if these birds break the top out of these trees before hand so it will fork just so they can build a nest. Pine trees normally do not have forks in the top. Don't know!

What a dear little bird!  And how hard it would be for a predator to find that nest.  (Until the babies get hungry  ;) ).  Tim, I'd love to see more of your Australian birds, so keep 'em coming.

@ Don. Could be ice storms (if you have them) or other storms take out the top of the tree?

Tim this little bird looks about the size of a titmouse.  How long is it?  That nest is a great camouflage, I had to go back and really look to see the nest.  Well done and please show us some more!

Yes you could be right but it has been a long time since we had a ice storm here and wind storms that break pine trees usually break them here in a way that you know we have had a bad storm.

Anyway God feeds these birds and so I am sure he provides for their nesting needs also and He can do that in any way He desires.

Not sure about that one Don, I would like to know now though. :)

Judy, this bird is about 15cm long, it's just the tail that is big though. ;D

Kevin, I was using my Sony A300 and 70-300mm (kit lens). I only have two lenses, one for landscape, and this one for birds. They are both kit but I am pleased with the results it gives me. I rarely take my 70-300 off the camera, it's my favourite lens! I do plan to switch to Canon soonish though, so I can get a good, qulaity 400mm lens.

Thanks all for your comments, glad you enjoyed this little fella, and trust me, there will be more to come! ::)

Thanks guys,
Tim
